What services does a wedding florist provide?

A wedding florist provides a variety of services, some of which might not be obvious at first.

Consultation: Your wedding florist will meet with you to discuss your vision for your wedding—your venue, your wedding style, your desired color palette, and the types of flowers you like and dislike. Your florist will then create a proposal which will describe the arrangements he or she will create as well as the prices.
Samples: After you’ve signed a contract and shortly before your wedding, your florist may also provide sample arrangements to ensure that you’re on the same page about how your wedding-day flowers will look.
Flowers: A big part of your wedding flower budget will go to the actual purchasing of the flowers. It actually takes several hours for a florist to put a flower order together—and the flowers your florist will receive from his or her wholesaler or grower are far better quality than the ones you can buy at your local grocery store. They’re grown especially to be featured at events and are hand-selected for their quality.
Flower processing and storage: Once your flowers arrive to your florist, he or she will take several hours (often a whole day!) to process your flowers (taking thorns off of roses, counting the flowers, etc.) and storing them in a refrigerated space to ensure they look amazing on your wedding day.
Labor and production: Now, it’s time for your florist to create those beautiful arrangements! Each arrangement takes time to design (probably more than you would think!), so it’s quite a long process.
Delivery and set up: Your florist and his/her team will then bring your arrangements to your venue. A good amount of work needs to be done on premises to make sure that your ceremony and reception looks picture-perfect, from the altar to the reception table arrangements.
Cleanup: After your wedding, your florist and his/her team will go to your venue to remove all of the arrangements and vessels, and assist with cleanup.

The bridal bouquet that she ultimately came up with was STUNNING! It was so much more than I'd even hoped for, and it fit so perfectly with the vision that I'd had for the "vibe" of our flowers. I'm so sad that the bridal bouquet can't stay alive forever, it was truly beautiful! The bridesmaids' bouquets and the boutonnieres all looked so lovely, too. So glad we went with Eastern Floral!

The Poppy and the Peony did full floral service for my wedding on 5/31/25 and it was everything I could have asked for and more; I was blown away by all of the florals, from bouquets to pew flowers to centerpieces. My bridal bouquet was the most beautiful bouquet I've ever seen, and my wedding florals will always be something I remember and smile about. The flowers really made our wedding vision come together in the venue, and you can tell Bunny puts SO much effort into making the florals unique and luxurious; our pieces were filled with large, fresh, vibrant and high quality flowers (that smelled amazing). In addition, the corsages and boutonnieres for our family members were the perfect touch and they all loved them! She made the process of getting a quote so easy, and planning the florals was actually really fun because I could give her my vision and she helped make it a reality! Bunny was also my month/day-of coordinator, and I mean it when I say I couldn't have enjoyed my wedding day without her help. My wedding day was actually the greatest day of my life, and I can really say I was able to take in the moments of the day throughout. No one was asking me questions, and when it was time to go down the aisle, Bunny helped me feel so calm. She has an incredibly kind and calming presence and it was just what I needed on my wedding day, she helped me just feel happy and excited. She learned family dynamics, found out who to coordinate with, and was SO organized. The things she asked me during our meetings practically helped me plan half the wedding. After the wedding day, many of our friends and family complimented our florals and Bunny herself, and we went home the night of our wedding absolutely thrilled with how beautiful things turned out and how much we enjoyed our day. We are still so happy a month after. We really felt like she was there for us and the wedding as a whole, making it all come together and being our friend in the process. The service coordination was clear, smooth, and flexible, and Bunny herself goes to great lengths to be there for you as a bride and get you what you want. You can really trust her, and I don't have anything but great things to say about her abilities as a florist and coordinator!
