Frequently Asked Questions for Dress & Attire
Does a client need to schedule an appointment? How do the client appointments work?
No appointment is needed, however they are encouraged on Saturdays.

What wedding dress brands do you carry at your boutique?
Maggie Sottero all but the Midgley Sottero line, Joli, Venus, and custom made gowns.

What is the typical turn-around time for a dress?
Generally it can take 4-5 months for a gown to come in after it is ordered. Now we can check to see if the gown is in the Company US warehouse. Many gowns are now made in China so the turn around time is longer. We also will sell off the rack. This limits your options but the gown is there.

How often do you receive new dresses?
Their are two seasons. Fall and Spring.

Do you have a seamstress onsite?
Our seamstress has been sewing since she was 8 or 9 years old. She will custom make gowns with enough notice. She is very upfront about what she will and will not do and why. We feel this is very important.

In addition to wedding dresses, what other products do you sell?
Formalities has a large selection of bridesmaids gowns: Bill Levkoff, Venus, Raylia, Watters and Watters, Jordon. We carry Little Maids, Jordon's Flower girls, Raylia flower girls, Bill Levkoff, and WaWa by Watters and Watters. We carry prom and thoses lines vary as we carry Maggie Sottero, Nite Line, as well as a variety from an independent vendor. Jewelry, shoes by Touch ups, Tux rentals by Sarno, Veils and Headpieces by Giselle and Malis Henderson, and EnVogue

Tips and Advice
Plan, Plan, Plan.
Get yourself a planner, there are many types out there.  Check out the bookstores, for example, BAM carries at least 10 different books

Keep in mind mom and dad,you and your groom may not be made of lots of money.

First we suggest that you create a budget and stick to it.  Remember , when you buy something that is more expensive than you planned, you MUST sacrifice something else if you intend to stick to your budget.
Buy various bridal magazines and go through them.  Get ideas, tear out the pages organize them.  Keep in mind magizines use the very best for their photos.  What can you do to keep within your budget, go to the professionals with your pictures, give them them amount you can afford and they WILL create something that will resemble what is in the pictures.  For example, you buy your gown, then use a less expensive veil and headpiece.  Keep in mind most girls take the veil off after the ceremony.

But above all, have fun.  This process should come with great memories that you will share with your children.
