My wife and I were married back in April and we were fortunate enough to be reminded 100 times that day that it's good luck when it rains on your wedding day. In reality, our good luck stemmed from having Maryssa with HSE on hand to make the drops feel nonexistent. From the first time we met on site at the venue to the email we received at the end of the night notifying us that everything was cleaned and cleared, we felt a reassurance that we could finally relax and let everything fall into place. Our wedding had it's share of minor issues but we always knew that HSE was nearby planning the next move. At the end of the night, there were a husband and wife that knew they made the right decision hiring Hannah Smith Events and we would recommend their services to anyone who would listen. My husband and I were thrilled with Kelly as our coordinator! She was incredibly helpful in the months leading up to our wedding, helping us stay organized and even giving us advice & recommendations, and the day of our wedding she made sure everything went perfectly. It was so comforting to know that someone so experienced and professional was handling all of the details while I could just relax and enjoy the day. She and her assistants even went out of their way to place the flowers from our ceremony along the head table at our reception - the most gorgeous detail! Having a day-of coordinator is worth every penny, and Kelly delivered beyond what we were even expecting. I highly recommend her!
Maryssa was absolutely amazing in helping my wife and I plan our big day. We thought we were doing good by planning in advance and Maryssa made sure we stayed on top of everything. I would highly recommend her to help you plan your big wedding day as well! She is amazing!

We were recommended Kelly at Hannah Smith Events to help with the wedding planning by my cousin and his fiancee that were also getting married. Due to some life circumstances and schedules, we decided it was best to have someone help us kind of keep in line through our wedding planning process with the day of coordination package. And being able to meet Kelly first to get to know each other and get our answers questioned, we decided to move forward.
We opted for the day of coordination package which allowed us to have a coordinator and an assistant for the day of. There were perks with booking in advance, since they have vendor lists to help us find vendors throughout. The day of service also meant that Kelly looked over our contracts before we signed off on them just in case we didn't understand or overlooked a detail or two. She also was really helpful with steering us in the right direction of the day of scheduling and contacted all our vendors to ensure that they knew what times to set up/clean up, etc. It was all really helpful in the last month prior to our wedding! I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me get everything ready! Thanks so much Kelly!
We could not have asked for a more capable, calm, and knowledgable coordinator for our wedding than Maryssa. From the beginning our wedding planning process, she helped us identify the right venue and vendors for our ceremony and reception, and made herself available at all hours of the day to help with our needs.
Maryssa helped us with every step of our wedding planning, but we didn't realize how dependent on her we had become until the actual wedding weekend. Maryssa was a calm ship in the eye of the storm, and had all the trains running on time without us having to check in about anything. We can't express enough how nice it was to look up in the middle of the craziness and see Maryssa working with vendors, family members, guests, and others to make sure that the weekend went off without a hitch.

My wedding planner was Maryssa. I described my vision for the wedding to her and she recommended the most beautiful and charming venue in Sonoma, CA. Maryssa was great about returning emails and phone calls in a very timely fashion. As wonderful as she was throughout the planning process, I can't say in words how amazing she was on the day of the wedding! I was SO stressed out by how many things needed to be completed, set up, put out, etc. the morning of the wedding I felt sick to my stomach. I thought there was NO way everything would come together in time. As I was getting my hair and makeup done all morning, I watched Maryssa work hard non-stop setting everything up. With each task she performed, I became less and less stressed and nervous. The whole day Maryssa would check in with me and make sure I was enjoying the experience. She was very good at calming me down and making sure I had a great time.
Maryssa flawlessly coordinated all the vendors, friends and family, and wedding party that day, and everything seamlessly came together better than I had even hoped. I would highly recommend Maryssa to any and every bride. If you are debating whether or not to have a Wedding Planner, the answer is "Yes!" and Maryssa is your girl!
Hiring Hannah Smith Events to plan my dream wedding was easily the best decision I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. We went with the partial planning package and I was lucky enough to work with Hannah directly as my planner from start to finish after booking our venue prior and she made my wedding vision come to LIFE! She is brilliant at what she does and not only would any bride be lucky to work with her, I know she has an amazing team running under her and any of her planners would be nothing short of amazing.
Let me be the first to say – I was no easy bride. Bridezilla some may call it or just very particular, they go hand to hand. ;) I sat down with Hannah about 13 months prior to our wedding day and she made my vision come to life and gave my husband and I the wedding of our dreams. She patiently answered my countless emails, texts and calls throughout the planning process. She gave me incredible vendor recommendations who all played a part in making our dream wedding come true. She saw my vision and worked with me endlessly on every detail down to the core, to make it a reality. Guests were blown away by the details and how everything flowed so perfectly - many saying it was the best and the most beautiful wedding they've ever seen. Most importantly, my now husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our day knowing Hannah had it all under control. We were almost in tears when we saw our ceremony and reception room come to life!
We got married in one of San Diego’s top hotels and with it, as I’m sure there is in any wedding venue, there came a few hiccups. Hannah always put out fires and did everything she could to make sure it would be the best day of our lives. She served as not only a planner, but as an advocate and friend! Dawn Steel at Hannah Events is an excellent planner. We worked together on my wedding from vision to day-of coordinator. The partial package made it possible to have her help within my budget and, boy, was it worth it!! I saved so much time and money having a solid plan moving forward. Her guidance, calming demeanor and professionalism made certain our dream wedding became a reality within our budget. When dealing with many professionals who already have a set way about how they do weddings, sometimes we had to request a slightly different way to keep with our vision but some venders would try to convince us otherwise. Upon consulting with Dawn to see if our request was reasonable, she was able to see the big picture. On more than a few occasions, Dawn in her tactful way made certain our requests would be honored and all parties were content about the decision moving forward. Also, I had a few last minute surprise needs right before the wedding and she was quick to offer solutions that saved the day! Everything turned out beautiful and she kept all the "hiccups" of the day behind the scenes. All of our family and friends were able to enjoy our wedding as much as we did and not have to stress about the "workings" of our special day. Maryssa from Hannah Smith Events was truly a one of kind planner to work with. From the get go, she became a friend to me and truly new the business better than I ever could. No request was to big or too small and she went above and beyond to ensure my wedding day and pre-wedding endeavors went smooth! The day of, she ensured that I had everything I need and even made sure to deliver my now husband and I food and drinks throughout the night! (She even delivered a huge platter of food and cake to our room at the end of the night!) I cannot say enough good things about her and her company. If you want to wedding to go without a single hiccup, she is the way to go!!
I was so lucky to have found Maryssa Stovall from Hannah Smith Events! My venue required a day-of coordinator, and being an out of town bride (Seattle, getting married in Santa Rosa), I knew I needed someone on the ground to help day of. Maryssa was great from day 1 over the phone. She is detail-oriented and organized, something that I so, so appreciated. I booked her for their standard package, which is basically day-of coordinator at most other places, but for Hannah Smith Events, can start 1-2mon before the event! Such a great deal, and at a very reasonable price! Whenever I emailed Maryssa, she replied right away, and she remembered all of our correspondence to put together a master timeline for me - I think even before that 1-2mon mark! I felt that Maryssa was my secret weapon. When I had difficulty communicating with a few vendors via email, since I was in my last month before the big day, I just turned that communication over to Maryssa and she let me know that everything was worked out. So easy! I also had a lot of details I wanted done for my wedding for setup on the day of. I collected and/or made all of the decor, packed it in several suitcases, and explained what I wanted for set up to Maryssa and she worked her magic. Everything was beautiful! No one in my wedding party or family was able to get to the venue until it was showtime, but Maryssa had everything under control. After the wedding, she also packed everything up for me so that it was ready to go at the end of the event. I really enjoyed working with Maryssa and felt as if she were a friend/companion/advocate for me through this whole wedding journey. She will always get to yes! Maryssa is competent, knowledgeable, diplomatic, has a great eye for decor, and I would recommend her 100%.
I found Hannah Smith events on Yelp and I'm so happy we did. Hannah set us up with Kelly Scaramella and she was the absolute best. Detail oriented, prompt responses, and the most incredible memory. During our walk throughs at our venue site with our florist, Kelly joined us and brought up details that both my wife and I forgot about!
Kelly really shined on the day of. She was incredibly organized and helped us go from one thing to another. The logistics were buttery smooth and my guests noticed. They mentioned that our wedding was perfect and moved from one event to another at the perfect time, without any incident.
We are so, so happy we got Kelly. Trust us, a wedding planner/coordinator is an absolute must! No one should be working on your wedding day. It will truly be the best day of your lives. And Kelly was able to make that a reality. Thank you so much Kelly and Hannah Smith events!
We hired Maryssa at Hannah Smith Events as our month-of wedding coordinator, and she was absolutely fantastic to work with! Although it was a challenge to plan my wedding from out of state, Maryssa was there to help pretty much every step of the way, even before the 30-day mark. Our phone conversations were always so pleasant and helpful. Although I could tell she would do a great job, she exceeded my expectations on my wedding day. She was kind, patient, friendly and professional and she helped the day run so smoothly. She was such a joy to talk to and work with and, most importantly, I didn't have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day. It's obvious that Maryssa loves what she does and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic wedding planner/coordinator!!
Maryssa was awesome! We were planning a wedding in Sonoma from North Carolina and she was an awesome help. From rehersal dinner recommendations and finalizing all the details she made everything easy. We both loved working with her on the day of and everything went perfect and we would hire her again in a heartbeat!
We really enjoyed working with Dawn at Hannah Smith Events. She was extremely attentive through the entire process. We had used her for the day of wedding service, but she had guided us throughout the entire wedding planning process with unlimited emails and calls. She provided us a piece of mind knowing we can bounce ideas off of her and get our gazillion questions answered. During the few weeks prior to the wedding she was very attentive in making sure every single detail of the wedding day was hammered out. The day of the wedding she and her assistants worked tirelessly to make sure everything went well and that our ceremony, cocktail and reception areas were set up beautifully and according to plan. Maryssa of HSE coordinated our Bay Area wedding, and we are so grateful for her help in making it the most amazing day! We were pretty hands on with the planning process and had already booked a number of major vendors when we stumbled across HSE. We were just looking for a day-of coordinator to hand things off to so we could relax and enjoy the big day, but HSE's Standard Coordination package went above and beyond, all within our modest budget! It included month-of coordination; site visits; access to super helpful online tools for the to-do list, venue layout and seating arrangement, and more; and unlimited contact throughout the wedding planning process.
We definitely had lots of questions and made use of the "unlimited contact," and Maryssa was so positive, encouraging, patient, and available all the while. She took meticulous notes during site visits and offered thoughtful recommendations, such as ways to ensure that there was ample seating for elderly loved ones during cocktail hour.
On the day of, everything seemed to go so smoothly! The reception hall was set up nearly identically to the sketches we'd drawn, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. All of our friends and family commented on how timely and well planned the wedding was; apparently cocktail hour was exactly one hour, even! More importantly, everyone had an AWESOME time, including us! For small blips like rental company bringing the wrong easels, everything was handled quickly and gracefully. Overall, Maryssa and HSE was a great value and helped us enjoy the big day to the max. We'd definitely recommend them to friends!
I am a control freak and I knew that I would not be able to deal with all the last-minute details so having a month of wedding planner was the perfect way for us to go. I was referred to Hannah Smith Events by florist and I am so glad I worked with them. Our wedding planner was Dawn Steel, girls she is the most detail oriented person (besides myself) I have ever met. She listened and executed every idea we sent her way. We had a BIG Mexican wedding (200 guest)! She made sure that Albert and I had no stress the month of and day of our wedding. Dawn was at the venue early the day of the wedding to make sure all vendors came in on time and that when the wedding was to start that it was all on schedule. If you want someone that cares about you as a couple and is genuinely excited for everything that will happen that day the Dawn Steel and Hannah Smith Events is the way to go. We will be using their services again because we are Mexican and love to have over the top parties… Not to mention Albert will be 50 soon lol.

Dawn Steel with Hannah Smith Events is the BEST! My venue requests a day of coordinator and Hannah Smith Events was recommended. Hannah Smith Events offers many options as far as wedding coordinators which is great. As I had planned my entire wedding I really only needed day of however I wanted to know who I was working with so I picked the 1 month out option. I am glad I did! Dawn was awesome and so professional and helpful. It was hard for me to let go of what I had worked so hard on but she put my mind at ease and asked me to please let her take over so I had less stress. I did and really she helped so much. At one month out you don't realize how much is involved and it was great to have her on board to keep me on schedule as far as final payments, and what was needed still. She created a perfect timeline and took over contacting vendors to make sure they had what they needed and made sure they knew where to be and what time. I had a lot of my stuff done and ready for her and when she got to the venue she got to work. I had a few extra things added that I knew I could trust her with. People say something always goes wrong but my wedding was perfect and everything and everyone was happy. She helped me so much during that final month and the day of. Dawn was so fun to work with I miss her already!
Anyone needed day of, month out, or full help with a wedding please consider using Hannah Smith Events. I am sure all the coordinators are exceptional from just my experience with Dawn Steel, but Dawn was my third hand and my second brain. She was on top of everything and made the day stress free and I was able to enjoy my wedding knowing it was in the best hands!
My husband and I worked with Dawn. She is a gem - super sweet and attentive. Dawn also has her own floral business (which my husband and I also booked through her). She definitely knows her stuff...and if she isn't sure of something, she utilizes her resources and is happy to do research for you. Kelly did such an outstanding job with the month-out and day-of coordination of our wedding. From the get-go, she thought of details and vendor questions that never occurred to me, and made me so thankful she was on board to help with the wedding. She did such a great job coordinating the vendors and creating the timeline, that the day ran seamlessly. My husband and I didn't have to stress or worry about the details of the day, which allowed us to truly enjoy our wedding. From what I heard, our vendors liked working with her too. Message Hannah Smith events ASAP! If you were like me, you waited until the last minute, checked every vendor site, read every review and checked all prices prior to messaging for help. Do not make the mistake of celebrating your big day without the help of a coordinator. I had picked handful of coordinators and Kelly was first to respond back to me. Wonderful communication from the start and endless emails. I was so lucky to find Kelly Scaramella from Hannah Smith Events. She had a phone consultation with me and I realized she would be a great fit for my style. My husband and I were doing a more casual wedding, having the reception at the restaurant he owns, therefore a lot of things were in our control. Because we had so much control and staff we knew, I decided to go with the day of coordination. It was completely worth it! Do not try to be a bride that coordinates her own day, you can not be in 5 places at once. Do not let your mom, mother in law, bridesmaids, auntie, or anyone for that matter pick up all the pieces and coordinate your day. We got Kelly and her assistant for that day, from the time we were getting ready until almost everyone had left the venue. I can't imagine my wedding without someone else doing all the worrying for me :) I got to pick out everything I wanted and have someone else orechstrate the entire production down to every minute of the whole day! It was so amazing! Kelly was so wonderful, very professional, great/fast communication, and at the end of the day I barely remember seeing her much, behind the scenes with full reign of everything! I loved it!
Working with Hannah was a really great experience! She kept us organized, and on task while planning our wedding. She has a calm demeanor and is very flexible. Hannah took a vision that I had in my head and made it a reality. When I walked up to the venue and saw everything lit up and glowing it literally took my breath away. We were beyond pleased. Having Hannah around really minnimized the inherent stress that goes along with planning and executing a wedding. She is a gem!
Kelly was a rock star! She was in touch with me from day one. Multiple phone calls and we met at the venue way ahead of time to confirm all the details. She was very hands-on and paid attention to every detail. The day of she took over. I didn't have to worry about a thing. She had it all set up and everyone where they needed to be; while I focused on getting ready and my photos. I couldn't have imagined my day without her. My wedding was everything we had hoped for and more and that is thanks to Kelly. I highly recommend her for your coordinator.
My husband and I hired Dawn Steel from Hannah Smith Events to help with our wedding planning. We picked the all inclusive wedding planning package; hiring Dawn to help us was the BEST decision we made. I cannot thank her and her team enough for everything that they did. When we hired Dawn we had already found a venue for our wedding. Dawn helped us with everything else from finding vendors for photography, florals, cupcakes, linens, etc. to selecting invitations and managing our RSVPS! I loved that she sent us a monthly to do list of things to work on or think about throughout the wedding planning process. She is in the business and most of our vendors gave us a discount and it was nice to know that she worked with each vendor at prior weddings so we knew they were all reliable and would do a great job.
Dawn is really warm, personable, detailed-oriented, responsive, and so kind. Throughout the planning process my husband and I could choose to be as involved or less involved in different parts of the planning process. I loved that I could emails, call or text her when I had questions and wasn't sure what to do. I've been raving about Dawn to our family and friends and I've been recommending her to them for wedding planning. Dawn and her team, Taylor and Clarissa, did a phenomenal job!
