Invitations

Do I need to send an invitation to the celebrant (officiant)? We are paying her to do the ceremony. We don't know her socially, but we asked her to do the ceremony because she is a friend of a friend.

Usually I would say no you don't have to. But if she is a friend of a friend I probably would. A lot of the time the officiant will stay at the reception or will ask you. So I'd say go ahead and send one since she is sort of a friend.
