Jaimie and Aaron were married at the Oakwood Resort in Syracuse, Ind. on September 27. “I loved that we could have everything at one place: accommodations, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception,” Jaimie said. “They even had a salon, so I could get my hair and makeup done without leaving the venue. It was convenient to be able to be there from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. And it was pet-friendly, which was must.” The bride wore a v-neck lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with a keyhole back, accessorized with her hair in an updo, feather headpiece, and a pair of comfy flats, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a tie. Bridesmaids wore short mint chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, amaranthus, stock, and caspia. “I utterly loved my dress,” she said. “It was exactly what I was hoping for. I wanted a very classic Audrey Hepburn/Grace Kelly/Princess Kate/ look, but couldn’t find that concept anywhere until I stumbled upon pre-owned wedding dresses’ website.” Guests were greeted with a chalkboard sign that said, “order of ceremony: music starts, we get married, and everyone parties.” Once the exchanging of vows were sealed with a kiss underneath an arch draped in fabric, it was official, with almost 125 witnessing. “It was such a beautiful day, and the pictures turned out perfect,” Jaimie said. “The major detail I couldn’t control was the weather. Of course, I was freaking out about it. But the day came, and the sun was shining, and the water was sparkling. It was 80 degrees! I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more.” Cocktail hour began followed by the reception shortly thereafter in the ballroom. Tables were decorated with white linens, black napkins, vintage vase and vessel centerpieces, lanterns, tea cup candles, and guest libs at each place setting. “My absolute favorite detail was that we had our two huskies,” she said. “They mean the world to us and to include them in our special day was a must from the beginning.” In lieu of a traditional guest book, everyone was asked to share their favorite date idea with the new Mr. and Mrs. A two-tiered purple ombre cake was cut and served for dessert concluding dinner. In addition, there was also cupcakes. The newlyweds’ best advice? “At some point, you have to stop using Pinterest!” Jaimie said. “There are many great, beautiful, and cost-efficient ideas, and it’s so easy to just keep pinning and adding more and more concepts to incorporate into your big day. It came to the point where I had to stop going on it at all. I couldn’t see any more ideas of pictures that I had to have. This helped me focus myself on what really needed to be done instead of continually adding extras that weren’t a necessity.” At the end of the night, they opted for a kiss on a boat.

Every wedding has dozens of precious  moments that are captured on camera. From the first kiss to the first dance, there’s bound to be countless heart-warming snaps that you and your significant other can bond over for years to come. There are, however, some especially adorable photos we came across and just couldn’t resist sharing. From jaw-dropping backdrops, to a sentimental moment between a groom and his mother, there’s no shortage of aww-worthy snaps in this slideshow. Grab the tissues and prepare for your heart to melt!

Kelly and Will were married at Brightfield Farm in Woodlawn, Tenn. on June 15. “Will and I wanted our wedding day to be a reflection of both of us,” Kelly said. “We chose to have it near Hopkinsville because we both met and started our lives together here. We wanted the location to be unique to us and immediately thought of a barn venue with a garden — something simple, shabby chic, vintage, and with a Southern feel. Once we found Brightfield Farm, we knew we found our perfect match! I remember as we drove up the long dirt driveway, I squealed to Will that I had a good feeling and that this might be the one. And it was! I did not look at another location after that.” The bride wore a lace v-neck fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair down in loose curls and a pair of flats, while the groom wore a tan suit, accessorized with a bow tie and suspenders. Bridesmaids wore long pink dresses and carried bouquets of roses, hydrangeas, and dusty millers. “We wanted to keep the traditional vows for our wedding but wanted a meaningful unity visual,” she said. “We didn’t want to do the candle or the sand pouring, so we researched and found ‘God’s Knot’ where three strands of rope are braided together to symbolize husband, wife, and God, who make up the marriage. I made it out of rope that I painted: one pink, one sage green, and one white.” The only blooper during the ceremony? “The rings were on the ring bearer’s pillow so tight, we couldn’t get them off,” Kelly said. “The best man ended up ripping the silk tie with his teeth. Everyone clapped.” Guests were then free to play lawn games such as corn hole. Bonus: Dippin’ Dots was served to beat the heat too! Cocktail hour ended, and the reception started inside the barn. Tables were decorated with white linens, tea kettle centerpieces, tea cups, and vintage plates. Instead of a DJ, a band called The Pranksters performed. Two days later, the newlyweds jetted off to their honeymoon in St. Lucia.

Natalie and Ian were married at Carondelet House in Los Angeles, Calif.  on March 23. “We went to countless venues and loved them all, but when I walked into Carondelet House, I had the same feeling I had when I found my dress,” Natalie said. “This place is so beautifully decorated down to the last detail. It had so much character and charm from the chandeliers to the vintage art. It didn’t need additional decor to fill the space. It spoke for itself.” The bride wore a tulle fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a mint tie. Floral arrangements featured roses, plenty of succulents, and hydrangeas. After the newlyweds were pronounced husband and wife, guests were asked to toss confetti and shout hooray! Our favorite portraits, you may ask? The ones above with their pup Baxter. Mixologists created signature whiskey ginger drinks especially for their cocktail style menu, and almost every detail was handmade from the signs, glitter dipped mason jars, and feather trimmed stirrers.

Q & A with the Bride: 

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

When I chose to get married in the Florida Keys, I scoured the Upper and Central Keys for a vacation home where my closest friends could stay and where I could hold the wedding. The majority of vacation home rentals, however, prohibit wedding ceremonies over 20 people due to zoning and noise ordinances. I was familiar with Pierre’s Restaurant, a venue famous for its sunset weddings. When I went to Pierre’s to scope it out, hip Greek techno music was playing on Pierre’s beach and after my exasperating search to that point, I took it as a sign that this was my venue! 

2. Which two details from your wedding were your favorites?

I adored my wedding dress and flowers. When people told me, “You will know your dress when you see it,” I thought, “Do they know how many ugly wedding dresses are out there?” Truth be told, I literally lost my breath the moment I saw my dress. To all disheartened brides out there, I urge you to keep looking. I am living testament that there is a dress for everyone! Given the overwhelming expense of a wedding, it is tempting for a bride to skimp out on the flowers. But flowers are the only creation on Earth, aside from human beings, that create light. Next time you see a bouquet of flowers or a field of wildflowers, notice how your heart center expands. 

3. Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

My favorite part of the wedding day was having the Greek Orthodox ceremony on the beach. The Orthodox Church, much like the Catholic, rarely approves requests to marry outdoors. We were extremely lucky and never will forget the beauty and significance of our ceremony as we overlooked the vast and beautiful ocean, caressed by the wind and kissed by the sun.
