Emily and Ian were married at Pack Square Park in Asheville, N.C. on October 12. “We wanted our wedding to be integrated into the combination of urban and rural landscapes that surround and make Asheville so special,” Emily said. “The Century Room was an extension of this idea. Placed certrally within downtown, it offered the perfect location for our guests. The interior with it’s beautiful wood finishes and striking beams running the length of the event space made you feel at home and comfortable, as if you were almost nestled into a North Carolina cabin for a picturesque fall night.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace a-line wedding gown with straps, accessorized with her hair in an updo, jeweled tiara, sash, and a pair of Kate Spade wedges, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a patterned tie. Bridesmaids wore long-sleeved green dresses and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, berries, and seeded eucalyptus. “The moment we saw each other for the first time, and all the emotion that had been building for months spilled over,” she said. “It was really happening. It was incredible because only the two of us shared it (along with our awesome photographers).” The ceremony took place at 5 o’clock. Guests, approximately 90, sat in white folding padded chairs organized in a half-circle to witness the exchanging of vows before it was official! Fun fact: they each wrote their own! Cocktail hour began followed by the reception shortly thereafter. Tables were decorated with white linens, red runners, mercury glass centerpieces, and votive candles. “Our first dance was to ‘Higher and Higher’ by Jackie Wilson, a la Ghostbusters 2,” Emily said. In lieu of a traditional cake, there was a groom’s cake as well as cupcakes. “It was of Ian’s beloved cake Gandalf holding a University of Florida flag,” she said. The newlyweds’ best advice? “First, make a decision and move on,” Emily said. “It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with so many options and that just adds unneeded stress. Secondly, the day of the wedding most things can’t be changed or fixed. Allows this to relax you and just stay in the moment with the person you’re marrying for as long as possible.” At the end of the night, they jetted off to their honeymoon in Charleston.

Enchanting Intimate Fall Inn Wedding in Georgia

Brittany and Blake were married at the Washington Grass Inn in Greensboro, Ga. on October 11.  The bride wore a strapless sweetheart fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair in an updo, fingertip-length veil, jeweled sash, and a pair of cowboy boots, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a matching tie and vest. Bridesmaids wore short gray lace dresses and carried bouquets of roses, scabiosa pods, dahlias, daisies, and fiddlehead fern curls. Notice the statement necklaces too? There wasn’t one flower girl or two, but four! Before the ceremony, the couple opted for a first look on the front porch. Guests were greeted to the 13-acre historic property (circa 1852) with a chalkboard sign that said, “Friends of the bride, friends of the groom, please sit together. There is plenty of room.” Brittany was escorted down the aisle by her father through two doors. Aisles were lined with tree trunks topped with mason jars. The vows were sealed with a kiss just as the sun was setting. And in perfect time for formal portraits on the swing! The reception took place in the “cottonball room” otherwise known as the pavilion. Tables were decorated with brown linens, orange napkins, and wheat centerpieces surrounded by pine cones. Koozie favors were passed out as the dance floor got packed from entertainment of the band. At the end of the night, the newlyweds exited amongst a sea of handmade ribbon wands.

Rustic Multicolored Fall Inn Wedding in Maryland

Amanda and Robert were married at the Inn at Michell House in Chestertown, Md. on October 12. The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown with a ruched bodice and lace skirt, accessorized with her strawberry blonde hair down in loose curls and cluster pearl earrings, while the groom wore a brown suit, accessorized with a tie and satin-wrapped boutonniere. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched jewel toned chiffon dresses in different shades of burgundy, blush and brown and carried bouquets of dahlias, mums, lisianthus, and seeded eucalyptus. “We loved that our flowers were locally sourced and smelled amazing with herbs mixed in,” Amanda said. Guests were greeted with a perfectly-landscaped lawn overlooking the Stoneybrooke pond as they arrived for the ceremony. “We loved the rustic feel of the historic country bed and breakfast,” she said. “We were terrified of the rain. With the weather forecast, everything pointed towards us being married under a tent rather than in front of a beautiful pond in the country setting we had imagined. But the rain held out [for the vows]. . . ten minutes following the ceremony the sky opened up and there was a rain shower, but it was okay because then we had a perfect rainbow!” During the reception, escort cards were hung on vintage shutters, tables were numbered on chalkboards, and dinner was served a la buffet, including pulled pork and brisket, smoked chicken, caesar salad, potatoes au gratin, asparagus, and ratatouille. “And the candy buffet was a hit!” she said. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Have fun!” Amanda said. “You will spend a year planning for this one day, and some things may go wrong, but that won’t keep you from having the best day of your life.”

Multicolored, Floral Summer Wedding in Indiana

Q & A with the Bride: 

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

The tall ceilings! St. Marys of the Woods’ O’Shaughnessy Hall is absolutely gorgeous. I always wanted tall ceiling at my wedding venue and this was perfect touch.

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

1. Peonies: I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to get them or not, and a couple days before the wedding, we were able to get them for the arrangements!

2. Favors: My mom and I made all of the jam and covered and tied the tags on. I’m not a super creative person, and I was glad that I was able to do something that everyone loved!

3. Stationary: I loved all of the stationary that Pink Poppy Ink did for the wedding. From the invitations to menus, programs and even the seating sign! 

3. Give us the one moment from your wedding you can’t stop thinking about.

The moment we were announced husband and wife, and we walked down the aisle together. After the ceremony, we got to spend a few minutes together alone. It was so amazing to just be together since the day is so hectic leading up to that point! Plus, my dad doing a kick line to the beach boys at the reception!
