Couples in St. Louis gathered with their family, friends, and bridal parties in a celebration of fall weddings. As guests arrived, they were offered sips and bites by Patty Long Catering at 9th Street Abbey. From a savory charcuterie plate to grilled and glazed shrimp, guests dined on a mouthwatering array of bites from their extensive menu.
Guests enjoyed the fun sounds of Millenium Productions, who mixed fun cocktail party music with their classic wedding playlist.
Looks By Lisa provided big day beauty advice and gave guests samples to help them in the beauty decisions.
BHive Events gave their expert wedding planning advice, sharing their top tips and tricks for a stress-free wedding.
Fish Eye Fun Photobooth brought sequined fedoras, crazy masks, and endless options for photobooth pictures. Guests loved seeing how pictures turned out with the fish eye lens.
Always in Bloom Florist added subtle blushes and ivories with their spectacular centerpiece displays, incorporating roses, hydrangeas, and candles.
The perfect sweet end to the evening was provided by The Sweet Divine, who offered mini versions of their award winning cupcakes while showcasing their sensational hand-crafted cakes.

Erin and Timothy were married in a traditional church ceremony at St. Therese Parish followed by an indoor reception at 28 Event Space in Kansas City, Mo. on March 21. “It had EVERYTHING!” Erin said. “Wonderful wedding coordinators, plenty of outdoor space, awesome mural of the city on the wall, twinkling lights on the ceiling (to feel like we were dancing underneath the stars), glass garage doors — a dream come true.” The bride wore a scooped-neck tulle ballgown with off-the-shoulder capped sleeves, accessorized with a curly updo and floor-length veil, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a matching vest and tie. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched short gold dresses and carried bouquets of single rose stems. Notice Erin’s bouquet includes ornaments? “There are so many things I can’t stop thinking about, even six months later,” she said. “But walking down the aisle to ‘Climb Every Mountain’ from my favorite movie ‘The Sound of Music’ to my husband smiling and holding back tears at the end is permanently etched in my mind.” Tables were decorated minimally with white linens, wine bottle centerpieces, tea cup candles, and quotes, which served double-duty as table numbers, such as “Mawwiage is what bwings us togevah today” from “The Princess Bride.” “We loved having our favorite people in the entire world in one room to thank them for everything they have ever done for us,” Erin said.” The newlyweds’ best advice? “Personalize it,” she said. “There are so many beautiful weddings out there, but they all seem like direct copycats of one another. Put your favorite foods on the menu . . . make sure the playlist has some sentimental songs. Do everything your way! Oh, and if you have to spend money on one thing, make sure it is a good photographer.”
Lauren and Carter were married in the groom’s parent’s backyard in Columbia, Mo. on September 6. “When searching for a venue, nothing felt like us,” Lauren said. “When Carter’s parents moved into their house and offered it as a venue, it fit us. It was familiar and relaxed, just what we needed.” The bride wore a vintage-inspired v-neck a-line wedding gown with capped sleeves and an illusion back, accessorized with a pair of gold peep-toe wedges, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a tie and pocket square. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched short peach chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, poppies, astilbes, berries, and dusty millers. “Oh man, there were so many special moments,” she said. “I guess the one that stands out the most would be after we walked down the aisle from the ceremony. Carter pulled me aside privately. I could feel the sprinkles that were thrown on us falling off of our heads and shoulders. It was really sweet.” Guests were directed to the tented reception via a wooden directional arrow. Tables were decorated with mint linens, vintage vases and vessels, books, picture frame numbers, and votive candles. “The day was perfect, and everyone who helped did an amazing job,” Lauren said. “We loved our sweets table. I have a sweet tooth, or more appropriately, sweet teeth. Anything someone could want for dessert was delicately arranged.” It featured an three-tiered ombre cake, cupcakes, mini pies, cookies, and more. The newlyweds’ best advice? “My advice to other couple’s planning their wedding would be to go slowly,” she said. “Go one step at a time and everything will come together. Also, don’t sweat the small stuff.”
Jessica and Ross were married in a traditional church ceremony at the Catholic Student Center at Washington University followed by a reception at Jefferson Memorial in St. Louis, Mo. on November 16. “Jefferson Underground has personality, and we wanted something other than a cookie-cutter wedding,” Jessica said. “We loved the unfinished brick walls and industrial feel to it as well as the outdoor space we could us for the bar and dance floor.” The bride wore a strappy satin fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with statement earrings, necklace, and sash, while the groom wore a three-piece gray suit, accessorized with a tie. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched short navy blue dresses and carried bouquets of dahlias, anemones, silver brunia balls, thistles, and succulents. “From the beginning, we wanted the theme of our wedding to be really neat lighting,” she said. “The Aries Company helped us realize that dream with the string lights and Edison light fixtures. It really stood out in pictures and added a special glow to the whole evening.” Dinner was all tons and tons of local flavors! “We wanted to show our guests a taste of St. Louis — Schlafyly seasonal beer, BBQ, and ice cream with ingredients sourced all over,” Jessica said. Tables were decorated with gray linens, assorted vases and vessels centerpieces, and yarn art numbers. Notice the goat cheese potato chip favor bags at each place setting? Plus, the personalized plastic cups that also served double-duty as escort cards. “After the first dance, it started to sprinkle and rain a little bit,” she said. “We were worried it would ruin the reception, but our guests weren’t deterred. We will never forget dancing in the rain with all of our family and friends, and it made for some unforgettable memories and hilarious pictures.”
1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
We loved the character and history of Belvoir Winery. The building we held our reception in was built around 1900 and was originally used as a home for members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. They were able to keep a lot of the original flooring, molding, etc., and there was just a certain charm about the building that we instantly fell in love with. Plus, we absolutely love Halloween, and Belvoir Winery has long been known as one of the most haunted locations in the Midwest. (In fact, they were recently featured in an episode of Ghost Hunters.)
2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
1. Pumpkins. We love fall and probably carve about ten pumpkins every year. We held our rehearsal dinner at my aunt and uncle’s house out in the country, and our guests carved pumpkins (over 100!) that were used as décor for the wedding.
2. Skyler’s boutonniere. Skyler is an antique collector, and one of his favorite things to collect is antique handmade marbles. We had our florist incorporate one of his marbles into his boutonniere.
3. Favors. We had mason jars personalized with our names and wedding date on one side, and the tree logo from our invitations on the other. They were part of the dinner setting, and everyone used them as their drinking glass for the night. I received so many compliments about them and many of our friends and family have told me they still use their drinking glass.
3. Give us the one moment in your wedding you can’t stop thinking about.
One of my favorite memories is walking down the aisle with my Dad. It was such a special moment that just the two of us got to share. He looked so happy and proud when he gave me away. I think that was the moment everything finally felt real.
