Jesse Duggar has been married to Ben Seewald for exactly one week tomorrow! As much as the wedding was traditional with 1,000 guest witnessing the vows (but not the first kiss) in the family’s church and a horse drawn-carriage exit, it was also untraditional. She wore blush (in lieu of white) Allure a-line wedding gown with capped sleeves. Our Fashion Editor believes that this will continue to be an emerging trend, so check out some of her favorite NEW pink wedding gowns from Fall 2015 Bridal Fashion Week.

Five Fabulous Looks from Jim Hjelm

Posted by Bridal Market on Oct 23, 2011

Traditional looks with modern sensibilities is how we would describe the Spring 2012 Jim Hjelm collection. Lovely laces and exquisite beading are some of the details that really caught our eye. Here are five we loved:

Pretty in Peach: Forget pink, designer Francesca Pietra, chose peach as her non-white/ivory color of choice. This peach silk satin faced organza and ivory tulle body skimming silhouette has an embroidered elongated bodice and layered tulle skirt.

Just Because: There’s lace, there’s color, there’s a deep sweetheart neckline. Why wouldn’t you want to try on this A-line gown made from ivory Alencon lace?

The Kate Effect: This gown reminds of us of Kate Middleton’s wedding gown because of the V-neck lace bodice and sleeves, but the skirt and back are less formal than the Duchess’ McQueen dress. The lace on this A-line gown is over a champagne charmeuse and the back is open.

A Re-Wearable Bridesmaid Dress: We think we found one! It’s very hard to convince a bridesmaid that she will wear the dress again, but even the bride will want to borrow this one. This sexy bridesmaid dress is made from a shimmer luminescent chiffon and features a one-shoulder neckline adorned with crystal appliques at the shoulder.

Reception Dress: Choose a reception dress that doesn’t look anything like you’re wedding gown and is a true party dress. This ivory pearl and crystal cocktail-length dress is encrusted with beads from the neckline to the hem.

Bridal Market Recap: JLM Couture {Part I}

Posted by Jeffra on Apr 18, 2011

JLM Couture is comprised of five lines:  Jim Hjelm, Blush, Alvina Valenta, Tara Keely and Lazaro.  And in addition to wedding gowns they also design bridesmaid dresses.

The Fall 2011 collections have something for every bride, no matter what wedding-day look you’re going for — glamorous, romantic, dramatic, classic and even destination brides.

I divided the JLM post into two, so here’s post #1 with my top picks for the Jim Hjelm and Blush lines:

1 – Instead of full blooms adorning your wedding dress opt for scattered petals instead.  You get the same spring-y, garden feel but it’s more subtle and a sweet look.
