Chelsea and Chris were married at the bride’s parent’s home in Chester, Vt. on September 1. “My dad always talked about having his daughter get married there when we were kids,” Chelsea said. “Chris and I had talked about doing it there for years too. So, when the time came, it was practically a foregone conclusion, despite having moved across the country to California a year before!” The bride wore a lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with an illusion neckline, accessorized with a fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a patterned tie. The outdoor ceremony’s focal points were a fabulous baby’s breath wreath and mason jars atop tree stumps. Notice benches were used instead of chairs? “After we kissed and walked back down the aisle, we went out into the field and looked back at the barn, tent, and all of our guests,” she said. “Up until then, I had it together, but seeing our vision all come together was incredibly emotional, and I welled up with tears of joy. I often close my eyes and go back to that moment to recapture the feeling.” Signature cocktails such as “rocket man” and “unicorn” and local organic fare were served, thank-you notes were at each place setting, and maple syrup in jars were given out as favors. The newlyweds’ favorite moment? “Having both a first dance and a first karaoke song that we had rehearsed together,” Chelsea said. At the end of the night, everyone was encourage to star gaze!
Bridgette and Scott were married at Legacy Farms in Lebanon, Tenn. on October 5. “The one thing about Heritage Hall at Legacy Farms that made it pop for us was the beautiful rustic barn,” Bridgette said. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a “biscuits and booze” cocktail hour, which just so happened to be a favorite detail of the day. “It included made-from scratch-biscuits, homemade preserves, cured meats and our signature drink — Jack Daniels honey and lemonade,” she said. The reception followed inside. Tables were decorated with benches instead of chairs, mercury glass centerpieces atop lace runners, and mason jars that doubled as favors too. The newlyweds’ best advice? Pay all the wedding bills in advance. “It was so nice to come back from the honeymoon and not have to worry about anything outstanding,” Bridgette said.
Rachel and Nick were married at Pinnacle Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio on September 21. “We wanted a natural, warm location with a rustic feel,” Rachel said. “The open garden was perfect for our cocktail hour, and the ballroom with the marble dance floor and hanging crystal chandeliers was the absolute best backdrop.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a jeweled sash, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a white vest and tie. Not to mention their statement necklaces too! “Planning our wedding while living in Nashville made me really lean on my friends’ suggestions and vendor recommendations,” she said. “Luckily, each and every one completely surpassed our expectations.” The reception followed the traditional church ceremony. Tables were decorated with white linens, tall centerpieces, and 250 votive candles. “Our DJ took our list of songs, but also was able to ‘read the room’ and keep the dance floor packed ALL night long,” Rachel said. Guests didn’t leave hungry either — a dessert display was stuffed with a four-tiered cake and an assortment of cookies.
Jenelle and David were married on at Juliette Chapel & Events in Dahlonega, Ga. on March 28. “We wanted something that our family from Michigan would never see up north,” Jenelle said. “The Juliette Chapel & Events was right in the middle of a beautiful mountain town, full of charm and personality. When we pulled up and saw that we would have room for both an outdoor and indoor setting, we got this overwhelming feeling of a romantic yet rustic atmosphere.” The bride wore a strapless lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a jeweled sash, while the groom wore a three-piece gray suit, accessorized with a black tie. Bridesmaids wore long gray chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses. “The days leading up to the wedding the forecast was grim and expected to rain all day, which it pretty much did,” she said. “But I look back and think about how fun we had, between standing with my bridesmaids with their purple umbrellas and funny poses to walking across the patio with my husband to take pictures under our clear umbrella, it was perfect.” Following the intimate ceremony, 85 guests found their seats via vintage key escort cards. Tables were decorated with white linens, hydrangea centerpieces, votive candles, and mint favor bags. The newlyweds’ favorite detail? “Our cake was AMAZING!” Jenelle said. “It was literally the best cake I have ever had. Our decorator surprised David with a groom’s cake and catered to my gluten-free/dairy-free needs.”
Marci and Paul were married at Chamard Vineyards in Clinton, Conn. “As we started to plan we noticed a theme coming together,” Marci said. “A celebration of Connecticut! When I first moved to Connecticut, I thought it was only temporary, a stop on the way to wherever else I was going, but it grows on you. No place has quite the combination of city and country, the ocean and the woods, the well-to-do and the down-to-earth. Bottles of wine were given out as favors and had a tag that said, “Love is like a fine wine, it only gets better with time,” and buckets were filled with s’mores bags to roast over an open fire. Yum!
