Maybe it was the 2012 Summer Olympics that inspired designers, because gold (and silver too) made their mark on the bridal runway this week. Metallic embellishments debuted a few seasons ago but this time around they have a beautiful boldness to them.
A very regal color, gold gives a simple white dress the va-va-va-voom factor the glam girl is looking for. If you’re shopping in the non-white dress market (or for a fabulous number for your reception) you’ll find all gold gowns that will surely have all head’s turning.
Marchesa’s majestic ball gown with a full tulle skirt is paired with a structured strapless bodice featuring an ornate gold pattern.
This red-carpet worthy shimmering metallic gold Ines Di Santo gown is as sexy as it gets, with a thigh-high slit in the skirt and a one-shoulder neckline.
You can barely see it but this Reem Acra ball gown with elaborate gold embroidery has an illusion neckline with a high crew neck. The gold pattern continues to the edge of the tulle, creating a capped sleeve unlike any we’ve seen on the runway, and the result is simple stunning.

People always ask us “The Green Kangaroo? What does that have to do with anything?” Certainly our company name is outside-the-norm, which is fitting, since uniquity has always been our mission.
Lucky for us, that mission is fulfilled every day: our products are a direct reflection of YOU, our customers, who are so very unique! It is always a pleasure to hear satisfied clients remark, “It’s just we wanted!” Because that’s what we’re all about! If you can dream it, we can do it. Your personality and taste should shine through all of your wedding details, (and we believe) especially your wedding invitations.
I have seen this next color combination popping up everywhere (baci already has two brides with similar schemes for 2011), so make a decision quick if you’re thinking about it or else one of your friends is bound to swipe it 😉

What if I were getting married close to Christmas? The following would be my inspiration for a near Christmas wedding with dark green and gold.
I am quite happy with when and where we’re getting married, so don’t think this is my dream wedding. It’s just something that I think is beautiful. So if anyone needs Christmas wedding inspiration, feel free to share!

With the start of falling leaves, this is the perfect time to design a Fall Inspired Wedding Board. I used more colors than usual to create this rich palette – ivory, soft peach, gold, rose, maroon and chocolate – it just screams crisp weather and early nights! Fall weddings present the perfect opportunity to use candlelight, unique textures like tulle and rich jewels.
