Last week, we spent a day scouring the aisles of the Fancy Food Show, searching for the best edible favor (and welcome basket addition) ideas we could get our hands (and taste buds!) on. While we already discussed the artisan caramel trend, there were many other sweet wedding favor ideas that we’d thought you’d like to know about. Check out some of our favorites:
Better Together Bake Shop brownies
Could these brownies have a more wedding-appropriate name? Lots of flavors to choose from (how amazing would pumpkin brownies be for a fall wedding?), and they’ll create custom labels for special orders.
Finding a wedding favor that feels personal isn’t always the easiest task. To start brainstorming, think about your hometown or the location of your wedding. Are there any edible local specialties that your guests might enjoy? Presto! That’s a favor idea!
While checking out the Fancy Food Show this week, we saw food companies from nearly every state – and lots of really neat favor ideas! Check out a few of our favorites:
If you’re from New Jersey…First Field ketchup
Okay, so ketchup might not be a conventional wedding favor – but it sure is useful and something your guests can keep for a while. If you’re from the Garden State, you’re probably aware that New Jersey is known for its tomatoes, so if you’re a proud Jersey Girl (or guy), a small jar of locally-made ketchup from First Field could be a fun (and yes, quirky!) favor idea.
This week, we visited the Fancy Food Show at the Washington Convention Center to search for the coolest new edible wedding favor ideas. Of course, we saw lots of chocolate – the most obvious choice for a sweet favor. But we were delighted to see many other options – in particular, artisan caramels. It’s a bit of a foodie-friendly twist on the candy favor, and there were lots of flavor and packaging options to choose from. Check out four of our favorite caramel companies. Even though these sweets are sold all over the country, for a local twist, hand out caramels that are made near your hometown or wedding location – they also make great welcome-basket additions!
Mouth Party Caramels, Baltimore, Maryland
A cool collection of flavors, like Cappuccino, Cinnamon, and OMG! (a chocolate caramel with fleur de sel), plus some pretty packaging options.
Purchasing holiday gifts for family and friends at this festive time of year, makes me think of wedding favors– the gift couples give to their invited guests.
Top trend favors have run the gamet this year from home spun honey or jam jars, to glassine bags on a lavish candy display- but one thing remains true: the edible favor reigns supreme! caramel apples. whoopie pies. macaroons. peronalized m & m’s. kettle corn. cookies. doughnuts. smores. Somebody stop me! Oh one more option– Bonbons. And how about if they sport some bling?
