Looking for something to wear to your bridal shower? We recommend going for a dress that’s fresh, feminine, and demure – nothing your Grandma Sylvia wouldn’t approve of! You’ll be doing a lot of sitting, standing, and walking around, so make sure your dress (and your shoes) are comfy! You can certainly wear white, but if you’d prefer to steer clear of the hue before your wedding day, try a pastel or lighter springtime shade. Check out some of our favorite styles above.

Bridal Shower Inspiration

Posted by Kim on Mar 11, 2013

While having a bridal shower is totally optional, it is a fun way to celebrate with your nearest and dearest before the wedding. Usually, the bridal shower is hosted by the maid of honor and bridal party, but it’s also fine for family members, the groom’s mom’s friends, or other important people in your life to throw you a shower. And though most of the time the bride does not play a role in planning the shower, we thought it would be a good idea to share the most important elements of this celebration.

The Venue
Bridal showers can take place in a variety of locations. A restaurant or hotel can be convenient – food and decor all in one place – but we’ve also seen showers take place at someone’s home, a park, or even something super-creative like an art gallery.

Bridal Shower Lunch Idea

Posted by Jeffra on Feb 17, 2012

This was a cute little bridal shower lunch idea I pulled together. It was incredibly simple and just included stuff around my house (plus the flowers). Here’s how to make this easy!

  • Find a font on dafont.com to make fun labels for the food and print them out on cardstock (or any thick computer paper).
  • Place the labels in place card holders (or you can fold them if that’s easier)
  • Buy two bouquets of roses for centerpieces (or the bride’s favorite flowers). I got these at Safeway and they were fabulous.
  • Pull out the good stuff – like silver flatware, silver candlesticks, crystal vases; or whatever you have lying around. These are the times to use it anyway!

Make it Mini: Hors d’oeuvres and Centerpieces

Posted by Jeffra on Feb 16, 2012

Planning an engagement party or bridal shower? Make the hors d’oeuvres and centerpieces mini with these fun “shot glass” ideas. Presenting the food makes a great presentation, and allows for people to easily have conversation without holding a fork and knife. Plus, who doesn’t want a mini milkshake or mini french toast. Yum!
