Tis the season for rising temperatures! While you may think it’s ideal weather to have a summer wedding in, the heat can often make family and friends uncomfortable. To help keep them cool (and refreshed), here are 6 ways to ensure they won’t have a meltdown:

1. Chilled Beverages

Before the ceremony, have a water stand with beverage tappers filled with your choice of limes, lemons, strawberries, blueberries or raspberries.

2. Iced Treats

During cocktail hour, pass out popsicles or freeze pops.

3. Oversized Umbrellas

Instead of having guests hold an umbrella to stay in the shade, place oversized umbrellas over the ceremony space. That way no one’s view is blocked.

4. Double-Duty Programs

Turn your ceremony programs into personal fans.

5. Dancing Shoes

Let guests kick off their shoes and have happy feet on the dance floor with flip flops.

6.  Sunglasses

Provide sunglasses to those guests who forgot theirs. You don’t want them squinting as you walk down the aisle!

Raising the Bar

Or stocking the bar rather.

There are many different types of wedding bar options ranging from dry weddings to full open bar options. Ours is somewhere in the middle. All sorts of soft drinks as well as beer are provided by our hall. However the bartender will serve anything else that we provide, so we set to the task of stocking the bar.

To save some on the booze, we visited a local bulk-shopping club to find some of our stash at better prices. There we found our wines, champagne and a couple of pre-mixed cocktails (we opted not to provide tequila so margaritas will still be available this way).
