Photo-Ready Wedding Manicure Ideas

On your wedding day, it is important to have your nails photo-ready. While most guests won’t notice whether your hands are freshly manicured or not, you certainly will when you look at your photographs after the wedding. Don’t neglect this part of your wedding day look and give your nails a little TLC before you walk down the aisle!

Subtle and neutral colors are the most timeless and classic option, however, there are lots of  fun new trends going around. My favorite: adding a little sparkle or distinction to your ring finger on it’s most special day.

Many Vintage&Lace brides ask me when the best time to get their nails done for the wedding is. I suggest doing this early on the day of the rehearsal -that way they will be polished and ready for any photos you might take that day and they will already be done so it is one less thing to worry about on the morning of your wedding. I don’t recommend getting your nails done too far in advance of the wedding day (3 or more days) because you run the risk of ruining them before the big day. If you don’t have time the day before the wedding, consider the Shellac technique which lasts longer and is less likely to chip. Also, make sure you have extra polish on hand for any last minute touch ups you might need.

Scheduling all your manicures together is also a really fun way to spend some quality time with your bridesmaids or other special guests. And, if your groom’s hands are a little rough around the edges and he is open to a manicure, I suggest he get one too!

As shown in these pictures, a good photographer will take a lot of pictures of the finite details on your wedding day and as one of the most expressive parts of your body, your hands are often captured and should be looking their best!  Happy Planning!
