Inspiration Board: Green & White Flowers

Posted by bridalbuds on Feb 13, 2009

Inspired by fab blogs Style Me Pretty and Snippet and Ink (and my habit of collecting images from around the web) I decided to make an inspiration board.  Today I got thinking about my flower choice, and decided to get my ideas “on paper”.  As it turns out, Sunflower Mom and Sunflower Grandma both used white gardenias in their floral bouquet.  As my mom tells it, she didn’t even know they were in her mother’s bouquet until they were ordered.  Since these are the most important women in my whole life, I figured I’d like to carry on the tradition.

That was such an easy decision, it feels kind of nice to check something off the list.  Since I was on a roll, I created this inspiration board of flowers in the colour scheme I’m using: white, green & black.

Of particular note is the black urn for the table centerpiece.  After seeing that, I’ve decided to seek out urns in different shapes and sizes (all black) to be used for arrangements.  Anyone know of any good online dealers?

After making this inspiration board I realized I just cleared massive amounts of space in my brain.  Seeing it all in one place helps me visualize the final look, and lets me decorate around it.  This is also what I will take to the florist, so I highly recommend doing this.  Another thing checked off! That is, unless I change my mind, which is very, very likely. 😉
