Bridal Market Recap: Christos

Posted by Jeffra on Apr 14, 2011

The Spring 2012 Christos collection is a mixture of lightweight fabrics and unexpected details.  Designer Amsale Abrerra always presents a collection of romantic and elegant wedding gowns that are always at the top of my “best of the season” list.

There are 12 dresses in the collection, here are five that stood out:

1 – If you’re looking for a light and airy wedding gown but want something more than a clean tulle bodice and skirt, the “Nevine” dress is adorned with organza embroidery, which adds a layer of texture.

2 – The “Thalia” satin ball gown features a beautifully draped skirt and I just love the fabric manipulation on the bodice.  It’s so flattering.  Need a little bling?  There’s a narrow beaded belt at the waist.

3 – This A-line “Freida” gown is made from scroll-embroidered silk organza and has an intricate vertical bow detail at the hip.  A modern addition to a traditional style wedding dress.

4 – I like all the pleating we’ve seen at market.  The “Myrna” wedding dress features a pleated tulle bodice and tulle skirt with a thin beaded belt.  But what I really like is that the tulle on the bodice is placed over a white sweetheart bodice and the tulle goes over the sweetheart.  Can you see it?

5 –  Tiered skirts have been popular for the past few seasons.  The “Cordelia” dress has a tiered organza skirt and is accented with two large floral flowers at the waist.
