Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
Cakes are priced by the slice. Variables in determining price ranges include: The number of desired servings, complexity of design elements,
the amount of time involved in creating the overall cake design, and personal aspects important to the celebrants. Even though one cake may be bigger in size, a smaller cake?s design may take longer to create in which case it would be priced higher per serving slice (the standard pricing basis for most bakeries).
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
Yes.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
All of our cakes are custom, using high-quality fondant to cover our cakes. Fondant laid over buttercream frosting gives a smooth porcelain finish to the cake surface and the perfect blank canvas with which to work. With our apologies, we do not do "buttercream only" cakes, as they limit our design capabilities and are very unsteady in transport.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
We use the freshest ingredients in our cakes...please see our website for flavor options.
On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
Usually 1-2 days ahead of time, depending on it's size. Our wedding cakes are never frozen. Gum paste detail work may begin as early as two weeks in advance, depending on the complexity of a cake's design, but does not in any way effect the flavor of the cake.
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
Because we work by appointment only, we are able to focus our attention on only 1-2 wedding cakes per week-end.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
Our stands our not rented out but do require a refundable damage deposit.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
Yes. We offer our Haute Cakes White Glove Delivery Service. Charges are based on distance (see website for details).
