Lena is the best & my dress looked AMAZING

Madame Paulette was recommended by the Bridal Shop. Lena my seamstress was so kind, her attention to detail was impressive. She made me feel comfortable and I trusted her expertise. She was even able to sew the bodysuit into the dress at the last minute. The dress fit so well & received so many compliments.

After buying a Vera Wang gown at a sample sale, I received a coupon for Madame Paulette's tailoring services. Because it was a sample dress, the tailor took the dress in, fixed a few structural issues, and had the dress cleaned. I had four fittings before my wedding, and I came to enjoy traveling to Manhattan with my wedding shoes and jewelry. My mom, aunt, and baby cousins met me at Madame Paulette each time, and we had fun chatting with the staff, asking questions, and taking pictures. When I picked up the dress a few days before leaving for my destination wedding, the staff gave me directions for holding and transporting the dress on the plane, and a kit for stain removal. In the end, the gown was immaculate and fit me like a glove! I ended up using the stain remover kit after brushing against blue food coloring on my cake. When I can, I'll be sure to return to have my dress cleaned and preserved! Thank you, Madame Paulette!

I used Madame Paulette for alterations to my wedding dress because they were recommended by J.Crew bridal and I was so happy with the results. Every appointment was easy to make, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the dress was stunning; fit me perfectly. While I didn't need many alterations (just hemmed, cups sewn in and snap closure on chest) I do not doubt their ability to alter any dress both easy and intricate! Thank you again for your help!

    Love, Stefanie

Madame Paulette was recommended to me by the J. Crew Bridal store where I purchased my wedding dress. I figured that they would be familiar with and have experience with the J. Crew dresses and therefore be a good choice. Although it was impractical (due to the fact that I live 2 hours away) I went with Madame Paulette and was not disappointed. The appointments were easy to make and when I was in the salon received very good and friendly service. I'll admit that the alterations were pricey, but completely worth it. My dress fit perfectly and looked great. I would definitely recommend, but do be warned that you may suffer from sticker shock.

This vendor was a bit pricey but completely worth it. I went to them because i had a vera wang gown and they were recommended by vera wang. They did amazing work with my dress and knew exactly what to do. Christine was always warm and inviting. And Teresa is undoubtedly a professional in the field.

Madame Paulette did a fabulous job altering my wedding dress. The alterations were within the original hems, and the service was impeccable. In addition to my wedding dress, I brought a few items to be cleaned, which also turned out to be great. Best cleaners by far in New York.

I brought both my bridal dress and my mother's dress here for alterations and had two completely different experiences with the same alteration staff. My dress was an elaborate ball gown with a long train and extensive beadwork. The dress was a sample and fit well, so required alterations were minimal, but bustle work was extensive. When I was quoted the price, I was in a bit of sticker-shock but the place assured me that it included spot cleaning for a mark on the front of the dress, alterations, steam, and replacement of loose beads. The alteration on my dress went well, and I never really noticed any beadwork loose, so no complaints in that department. However, there was a gray smudge on the front that I was told after the fact would not come out for the day of and that made me a little dissapointed in such an expensive price quote. Plus we were promised a diagram for the bustle and it was never provided (leading to a lot of stress on the day of the wedding).

My mother brought her dropped waist aline gown with ruching for alterations (a hem and to be taken in on the sides). It was a MESS! They just could not get the ruching to sit flat after they did the alteration on the side. We went back multiple times and sometimes the dress was too small, they tried to put cap sleeves on and one sleeve was wider than the other. Two days before the wedding they still could not get it just right and we wound up having to ditch the dress and buy a new one! Plus they made us pay for their botched job.

So would I take something back there? Not at their prices and with the touch and go service.

    Bride Beware!!!

I cannot speak about this business as a dry cleaners but if you are a bride DO NOT GO!!!!! I bought my Berta gown from the Soho location and they highly recommended Madame Paulette which honestly I do not know why. This was by far the worst experience of my life as a bride.

The business is currently being renovated so they are working out of another location called Next Day Cleaners. They did not make me aware of this when I made my appointment which was fine, until I went to the place. June 7 was the hottest day of the year and most humid, close to 90 degrees. They had no AC and the floor was disgusting, that day it rained so imagine people walking in to drop off their dry cleaners and the floor just being gross. Again, they did not tell me over the phone they had no AC. Then you trying on your expensive gown in the hot humid heat while people drop off their dry cleaners. Now I have no seamstress and the ones that I found do not have an available appointment until 2 weeks from now and my wedding is 33 days away.

Based on the reviews about their actual work, I would say your experience would be one you regret. If there quality is based on their professionalism, appearance and other bride reviews, I would say you would walk out of their dry cleaners wearing a rag on your wedding day.

Save yourself the trip and do your research before you go to Madame Paulette.

Brides-stay far away from Madame Paulette!

Since this business was sold to BY Next, there is no customer service. They don't answer the phone or respond to voicemails or emails. They lose things and lie about it. I wouldn't take a paper napkin for cleaning there. I made the mistake of having my custom draperies cleaned by them and will never use them again. I urge all brides not to add to their wedding stress by using this miserable, EXPENSIVE, excuse for a dry cleaner/tailor.
