I searched everywhere for a dress that wasn't the typical princess dress from a cookie cutter store. As soon as I walked into Shareen Mitchell's shop in NY, I knew this was the place. Shareen worked with me to identify exactly what I was looking for, offer helpful (but not pushy) suggestions, and even made rush changes when I wasn't thrilled about how something turned out initially with my order. She came up with ideas that I would have never considered and I ended up with a dress that far exceed what I had seen at other stores. Shareen and her staff truly want their customers to be happy and comfortable and at a price that is probably half of what other boutiques charge, it's almost too good to be true. It's almost worth getting married again just to go back and buy another dress :)

I would say that I am a more alternative bride. I wanted a dress that would make me feel special and beautiful but also keep me in my comfort zone. I didn't want to look like I was wearing a costume. I searched and searched for something that I felt comfortable. Every dress I tried was pretty and I looked great in them but I didn't feel like myself. I went to Shareen because I knew that she had great vintage dresses and felt that that might be a good route to go. To my surprise I realized that she also did bridal. I found about 3 dresses that I had a tough time deciding on. I ended up choosing a dress that didn't have a name yet. When Shareen saw it in me she said " Now this dress has a name, The Charity! Its perfect for you." Obviously I bought it. Shareen has the kindest sweetest soul. She listens to you, for real, and really does her best to give each bride exactly what she wants. I was frustrated, sad, annoyed and ready to give up. She changed my whole view of wedding dress shopping and my wedding. Thank you!!!

I did not want to wear white, but I still wanted something special that was made just for me. After several months of trying on ready-to-wear evening dresses I decided to visit Shareen, who I've been buying vintage from for about 10 years.

Shareen's designs are flattering, chic and have an elegant simplicity that is lacking in so many bridal options. Upon entering her cool warehouse, I fell in love with a navy striped fabric that I knew was the one for me. Shareen helps her brides personally. She helped me choose a bodice and skirt that were the most flattering for me and combined them into the dress of my dreams. She has made me a dress that is tailored to my body and one that (since it is not white) I will wear again and again! And all for under $1000.

I found Shareen through Pinterest. I saw several of her metallic leather strap dresses and I was literally obsessed. I live in Ohio and actually ordered the Alexa Cotton wedding dress online... without ever trying it on (gasp!). Shareen called me herself and instructed me on how to take the correct measurements and eased any concerns I had. My dress arrived on time and was perfect. I am so in love with her reworks and I definitely plan on making a stop at her store next time I am in New York.

I could almost cry thinking about my experience with Shareen herself, and I'm not a teary-eyed bride!! My wedding was just this past Saturday, and my dress was absolutely stunning (the Alexa bridal in cream). After trying on traditional wedding dresses that were just awful, I stumbled across Shareen via Pinterest. Much to my surprise she is a real and talented individual!! I'm in Chicago so there was clearly no way I could get to one of her stores. No problem, I got my measurements taken, sent her a picture of myself just so she'd have an idea, and she took it from there!! She even followed up with me to confirm my measurements because she didn't believe there was anyway I wore a 10 (aw, shucks!). Shareen herself gave me her cell and was also super responsive to e-mail. In the end, my dress fit absolutely perfectly. Considering that most brides end up spending hundreds of dollars on alterations, my dress was very, very worth the money!!! She is a saint!!! A very talented and fashionable saint!!!

On Tuesday before my Saturday wedding the dress was not finished. The seamstress completely failed and did not finish my dress. I couldn't lift my arms, the waist was too high and crushing my ribs. Instead of melting down, I regrouped and went straight to Shareen because I knew they had dresses right off the wrack at reasonable prices. I found the most gorgeous silk chiffon dress, fit like a dream right off the wrack that was perfectly me. Saved the day! I walked down the isle chic and elegant!

I popped into Shareen without an appointment to see their vintage dresses. They were super accommodating even though there was another woman trying on dresses. I didn't find any vintage dresses to my taste, but ended up looking through Shareen's house line and falling in LOVE.

Ended up buying one of their dresses in red. They were very communicative and helpful throughout that process; honoring my quoted price even though the style was going up. Leaving messages for me, giving me water and being kind to accompanying friends, etc. Plus, to boot, my dress came in early!

I highly recommend them to any woman, they can do both traditional and more modern looks and custom orders. Also, shout outs to Tori Campbell, the woman I worked with for being the best and making this experience just the best.

I LOVE the dress that I wore from Shareen Vintage. It's so beautifully unique, and I would chose it again in a heartbeat. Be prepared for an untraditional wedding dress shopping experience- a shared dressing room without an attendant. I actually found it refreshing. They do not create the dress to your exact measurements and there was a little beading damage from transit (LA to NYC) so find a good seamstress. My one complaint was that they didn't have a garment bag to put the dress in when I picked it up...we ended up putting a garbage bag over the hanger to protect it, which just didn't feel right. All in all, though, totally worth it!
