Universal Light & Sound made our wedding the party we always wanted it to be! I cannot stress enough how much lighting MAKES a space. Good lighting design can truly set the mood and fill up a space, sometimes more than renting physical decor or going all out in other aspects. And ULS know how to do it right! For our wedding, we had a few distinct spaces: an outdoor rooftop terrace where we had our ceremony and left open for guests to socialize throughout the reception; an indoor space that held both our dance floor AND an art gallery, a challenging duality of high-energy and somewhat refined environments that needed to feel cohesive; and an after party space where we wanted to reflect the feeling of a karaoke lounge/noraebang. It was a tall order, but ULS more than delivered. Each space was so distinct yet nothing felt jarring or out of place from the rest of the event. Market lights gave the outdoor rooftop an air of romance and welcomed guests to take advantage of the summer breeze. Party lights and mirror balls danced with our guests, giving them the energy they needed to move all night. Uplights throughout, and especially in the art gallery, elevated the space (and kept us from having to default to using blinding, clinical house lights). And those same uplights in color transformed our after party floor into the vision we had of a karaoke lounge to end the night. We can't thank the Universal Light & Sound team enough for helping make our dream wedding come true!

I don't know what I would have done without Soph Studios! I am so thankful my friends recommended her, she was the missing puzzle piece in my wedding planning. I am not creative BUT I know what I want, just had no idea how to make that a reality. Emily took the time to listen and plan with me while keeping in mind my budget and really made my vision come to life. I was blown away when I walked into my reception, she took the time to perfectly curate each and every detail from the table settings and and floor plan arrangements to the food table and dessert table/bar area. She thought of all those little details I was not even thinking of. It was a dream come true. She worked flawlessly with my wedding planner and the venue and if there were any hiccups, I certainly wasn't made aware of any! I was able to focus on myself and my dream wedding for the day knowing she was working behind the scenes to pull it all together. I have already hired them for our next event and would highly recommend them for all of your important events!! 

We worked with Lumen Lighting (formerly known as C&C lighting) for our wedding at the NYBG Stone Mill on 9/14/24 and are so happy we did! We used them for uplighting both inside and outside, bistro lighting outside and dance floor lighting. We worked with Christopher throughout the process who is an absolute professional and made things so easy. We just gave him a brief idea of what we were looking for, he laid out the options which we selected from, and he executed it perfectly. Such a nice touch for our wedding day!!!

4/1/2018 I found NYC Wedding Lighting on Yelp and from the moment I contacted Benji for more information, I knew Benji and his team were the right vendor to help make my wedding look perfect! For those that are beginning the wedding planning process, having the best vendors that are effortless to work with make all the difference!!! Benji answered all of my questions, from walking through the pricing to really trying to understand what atmosphere me and my spouse were seeking. What I really loved about Benji and his team is that they give you ideas on what is possible, while my wife and I wanted to a simple, but classy look, we really appreciate the ideas that Benji brought to the table. As you know, Benji has done events for Fashion Week - so you can 100% trust his ability to execute!!! On the day of my wedding (best day of my life), Benji surprised us with several extra lighting elements that we didn't even anticipate having. He really went above and beyond and really treated our wedding as if it was his own. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, his lighting really sets the mood for the evening and I am so grateful that he made not only the day of so wonderful, but the whole process was so effortless! You can 100% trust Benji and his team to deliver. I would stop your search for a Lighting Vendor now and just go with Benji!!!

We were thrilled to work with Jeff at Canal for our lighting needs at The Bordone LIC. He was professional and easy to work with, and he helped us get the job done in budget. He helped us figure out what we needed to light our blank canvas space to bring warmth with uplighting. He also advised us on lights we used in conjunction with our band to get the energy high out on the dance floor. Overall, great vendor to work with - would highly recommend.

Scott was my lighting savior for my wedding! I reached out with just a little over a month left until my wedding after having dealt with lighting vendors that were making difficult requests (ie. only being able to setup the day before, overpriced quotes). Scott was quick to respond and understood my vision right away. He was flexible in adjusting the proposal and was very reasonable with pricing. The lighting was absolutely gorgeous and nailed the vibe perfectly. On top of all that, Scott is extremely professional and incredibly nice!
