If you love sweets and live in Boston, you've already been to Flour, and I don't have to convince you that they're amazing. We were thrilled to find out they make wedding cakes. It's clear that of course wedding cakes aren't their main line of business: there's no tasting appointments, no cake consultants, and no elaborate decorations and color schemes. But if your priority is the tastiest cake money can buy, you are absolutely in the right place. We went for carrot cake, lemon raspberry, and hazelnut dacquoise - they also do their midnight chocolate cake for wedding cakes. They are all excellent choices. Yum!

Laura at The Top Tier was my go-to for pretty much everything involving my wedding. She does create amazing cakes (she created a beautiful, customized cake for my bridal shower), but my wedding venue included a cake in their package so I did not need a wedding cake. However, I did work with her on my invitations and on wedding planning overall. In my experience, Laura encapsulates exactly what a wedding planner should be: knowledgeable, connected, flexible, responsive, and extremely friendly. When I was looking to create and order my save-the-dates, she recommended an amazing vendor that executed exactly what I wanted. When I needed dresses and tailoring, she suggested a very affordable and professional bridal shop. When I needed invitations, she was able to offer me multiple company options and then I was even able to order directly through her. She also connected me with a calligrapher who was both affordable and amendable to my crazy schedule. In addition, Laura went above and beyond by offering a 'lacing' service right before my wedding to both myself and my bridesmaids as our dresses had these beautiful corset backs that had no idea how to lace! Besides the variety of services she can offer, Laura is set apart from other planners and vendors by the fact that she truly cares and wants to see your wedding all the way through. I could call her at any point during my wedding planning process to get her opinion on pricing, vendors, styles, or etiquette and she would either pick up right away or call me back immediately. She will make herself available so that she can help your dream wedding come true. I thoroughly recommend Laura at The Top Tier and am happy to share my experience with anyone who would like more information.

We hired Oakleaf Bakery for our wedding cake! My husband and I met in Boston, and frequented this bakery when we first started dating. There was no question that we wanted an Oakleaf wedding cake, and we certainly made the right decision! Our interactions with Julie, the owner and our cake designer, were efficient and extremely collaborative. The flavors were out of this world amazing, and the cake was the most beautiful cake that we have ever seen. Julie crafted our visions exactly as we had hoped and made our dream wedding cake come to life. The Oakleaf team delivered our cake to the venue on time and displayed it beautifully. Our guests are still raving about how delicious it was. We highly recommend Oakleaf Bakery for all of your events.

Words cannot express my amazement, joy and gratefulness to Kallie for my wedding cake. I had numerous, awful cake appointments before meeting Kallie. While planning our wedding, my (then fiance) was deployed in Afghanistan. During one skype convo I asked if he had any input on the type of cake, he said he wanted a banana flavored cake. I quickly set out on a mission for banana flavored cake. One baker in my town refused to even try it. Said it was a "rediculous" idea and told me to choose between vanilla, chocolate or red velvet. Red velvet on a white gown?! is she nuts?! the next woman i saw had delicious cake, but the price for the cake and delivery was over my budget. After those two fails, I started researching cupcakes hoping to find something! Then i found Kallie. first of all, her cake was the most moist and delicious in flavor, she has icing that is like whipped cream but better!! and her cake flavors...(she brought a banana option and a strawberry option that i wanted) they were AMAZING! and so FRESH! i've had a lot of cake in my time, but never was able to use the word "fresh" to describe it until i tasted kallie's cake. Light, airy and perfect in flavor. it was an automatic yes. then came time to design the cake. I knew what i wanted, but was open to her creative advice. together, we came up with a gorgeous 3-tier design white icing on the outside with black swirls on both the 1 and 3 tier. in the middle, she put red icing roses all over it it looked like a bouquet right in the middle! it was so gorgeous! Needless to say, Kallie gives you a bang for your buck! She can create any design, large or small, and deliver it all for such a small price. Honestly, I think she should charge more for what she does....She took care of us and gave us a military discount on top of it all. she is a wonderful person and an even better baker!!

Sarah was wonderful to work with. After searching for local cake studios we booked an appointment with her to do an initial consultation, tasting of basic flavors and a design brainstorm. After our time with her we knew we didn't need to continue our search. Sarah was hands the best. I have a nut allergy and she was very accommodating to that. She was clear she's not a nut free facility, but that she would make sure to not do any batches of cake prior to mine day of that contained nuts. She was very clear from the start of the process on our timeline. We knew day one when all installments of payments were due, when flavors needed finalized and what to expect day of. She was so organized and so on top of everything that I felt so at ease. She kept our cake a surprise until day of and WOW was that a treat! Our cake turned out even better than the inspiration photo we shared with her. It was a beautiful surprise. Guests commented on how stunning it was and how it was so nice to see such a statement piece over the recent cupcake trend. We had rave reviews on the flavors and overall texture. People that don't normally even like cake told us how they couldn't get enough. Everyone was so impressed with the look and style considering she doesn't use fondant (trust me it tastes so much better without it). I wouldn't have changed a thing in the process!

People really enjoyed having a delicious dessert, and now when we have our one year anniversary we can just buy a fresh cake that will actually taste good! Also, the cakes are really affordable. We split each cake into 8 servings, and each one costs $15. The pieces were still quite generous, and Mike's let me pay by cc since it was such a large order. The only downside is that Mike's doesn't deliver, luckily I had a great Day of Coordinator who picked up my 20 cakes!

The Brandt House offered us the perfect setting to have the intimate event that we desired and with the spacious rooms and thick walls, everyone was able to enjoy themselves without feeling like they were disturbing the other guests. The staff were fantastic to work with and helped us along the way. They listened to what we wanted and helped us to create a special event. The rooms were very cozy, and the house is beautiful. After looking at many places, the Brandt House provided everything that we were looking for and were within our budget.
