My husband and I got married in February of 2025 and we were lucky enough to work with JCakes through a winter wedding package at the venue we got married at (The Woodwinds in Branford, CT). The cake tasting was absolutely delightful as was the actual wedding cake itself! We were able to choose three different tier cake and filling options. We chose chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, vanilla cake with fruit filling, and chocolate cake with cream cheese filling. All of the tiers were absolutely incredibly delicious and the cake was almost too beautiful to eat. We chose snowflake piping to fit our winter wedding theme and it was stunning. The bakery made the entire process fun, simple, and the cakes decisions were truly the easiest decisions throughout the wedding process. We highly recommend this bakery!

We had our wedding cake made by JCakes as part of our wedding package at the Hawthorne Hotel, and it was above and beyond what we were hoping for. Jessie is unbelievably talented in cake design and made my funky galaxy style purple cake dreams come to life. She spent time meeting with us to make sure the design was exactly what we wanted, and we were floored when we saw it on our wedding day. Not only did the cake look incredible but it tasted AMAZING. Jessie’s cakes are the opposite of the dry, sickly sweet fondant slabs that a lot of people associate with wedding cake nowadays. We got three different flavors of cake with the mousse and we got rave reviews. If you want a beautiful cake that tastes as good as it looks, definitely go with JCakes!

JCakes was one of the cake vendors under my venue’s wedding package. The flavors were amazing! The process of creating the cake was so collaborative and fun. People kept taking pictures of the cake throughout the night and then couldn’t stop saying “it’s beautiful - and it tastes amazing!!”

I 1000% recommend J Cakes!! They made my wedding cake vision come to life. I am obsessed with chocolate cake, and when we asked if they could make my now husband and I a chocolate-on-chocolate wedding cake, they were so excited. The owner was extremely helpful in designing the cake and advising us on how big it should be. Plus, they added on a vanilla sheet cake for all the non-chocolate lovers. The tasting box of cupcakes was so delicious that we couldn’t wait to taste the final product. I was elated to see the cake on our wedding day, and it was even more tasty than I had hoped! From a chocolate cake connoisseur, you HAVE to have J Cakes do your wedding cake if you’re getting married in the area. They knocked it out of the park!!!

I cannot possibly recommend J Cakes highly enough for the wonderful job they did with our wedding cake.

First, Jessie was an absolute delight to work with and was completely down with my rather odd request to make our cake topper an actual tree (our last name is Root… so, um… yeah) using the base that I had started.

The experience she provides her couples is absolutely top notch… from an expansive included tasting and accommodating special flavor combinations during tasting on request to her included 1-year anniversary cake (which she’ll make for you right away or even a year later). We were blown away by her generous portions and affordability.

Next, her cakes… OMG. The cake itself is fantastic - moist and flavorful with one of the best buttercream frostings I’ve ever had. On top of that the fillings are also delicious. I was a little skeptical that a fluffy cream filling would carry enough fruit flavor compared to a jam or compote, but Jessie made a believer out of me. We had chocolate cake for all our tiers and had both raspberry and cookies and cream filling.

Finally, the decoration was perfect. We were using a William Morris tapestry as inspiration for the whole event and Jessie easily incorporated that as a wrap around one tier, deftly piped on roots for our tree topper, and included logos for the Celtics & Bucks (a nod to our first dates and my husband’s favorite sport). We had so many compliments about our cake - both for taste AND looks.

Also, FYI. They do cupcakes with cool special flavors rotating every week and will also do cupcake orders for special events too. We’ve since moved out of Massachusetts, but you can bet that J Cakes will be a go-to stop for me when I’m coming back.

TRULY AMAZING!!!!!!!! I tried two different cake vendors who were in the area of my venue, and both cake tastings left me very disappointed. I got in touch with JCakes, and they were super responsive, way better priced than any other vendor, and very easy to work with. Once I picked up a cake tasting box, it was solidified that I was going with them for my wedding cake. Every cupcake in the box was delicious, and they offered me a free bridal consultation where I came in to work with them on the look of the cake and the different flavors. We ended up going with a three tier, semi naked cake, with three cake flavors - vanilla with lemon mousse and blueberry preserves, carrot cake, and marble cake with chocolate mousse.

The cake was delivered on time the day of the event, and they set it up for me (added florals provided by my venue and put on the cake topper). We had a 40 person wedding, and the cake served about 50 people, and there was not a single leftover.

I would highly highly recommend working with Jcakes - they were above and beyond any other cake vendor I reached out to in terms of service, taste, value, and price.

J Cakes is the best! We wanted a classic-looking cake with fun flavors, and that’s what we got. We had both red velvet and funfetti layers, and both were absolutely delicious. We can't wait to have our complimentary "anniversary cake" next year! I would highly recommend J Cakes for any event, big or small.
