what color should my bridesmaids wear?

I am having a spring wedding and the color scheme is Grape and Mint/Seafoam Green. I would like to know since the ceremony will be after 5 should the bridesmaids wear the Grape or the Mint/Seafoam Green dress. I would like to know if there is a proper etiquette guide for after 5 weddings! More importantly do you think these are suitable spring colors? I don't want Lilac but I will alter the shade of green to maybe even "Apple" green. I am open to all and any suggestions. Thanks

Great colors! Go with what makes you and your BM's happy. Anything goes these days so play with it. One suggestion is to alter every other one with a different color.

I think they're beautiful for spring! The girls can wear green and carry a purple bouquet, or wear purple and carry a green bouquet, or wear either color and carry a bouquet with both colors. Any of the above would be appropriate for an evening event. I'm a visual person, so I hope these pictures help:

why not inner twine the colors some girls wear one color or have the bridesmaid where only one. Also there is having them in one color and wearing a bow around he waist of the other color. This also can be done with the maid of honor having her in the opposite color arrangement of the bridesmaids. Try david's bridal dress your wedding and see what you come up with

I would use a deep rich Amethyst purple and add in sage and Lime green in the floral details. A French Ombre ribbon in a green to purple shading is a perfect accent for your color scheme.
After 5 you can be bold with color and details, as it pushes the formality up a notch.
If you want drama use "Green Tea" hybrid roses and purple Lisianthus or ranunculaus with a touch of French lavender for fragrance in the floral designs.

I think that both colors would be beautiful together. Congratulations!

The color dress would depend on the skin tones and hair colors of the girls. If they are varied, deep purple would be more flattering but if the skin tones are lighter and the hair colors red or blonde, an apple green would flatter. You may want to consider having them try on both colors and see how they look then use flowers that contrast...i.e. deep purple with green flowers with a touch of purple tones. I agree that the lavender wouldn't have a place here. Good luck.

First, I LOVE that color combination-- it makes great photos!
Since it's going to be in the spring, either color would work for the dress. I think the material/style will be a bigger issue. Since it's evening, try to pick something a little more elegant.
I'm sure your girls will look great! Good luck!
