On the day of the wedding do you wear your engagement ring or take it off??
Not sure about wearing engagement ring or if wedding band should be the only ring your wearing.

I'm wearing my engagement ring. I'll take it off right before FH puts the wedding band on (during the ceremony) and slip it back on when I get a chance. Its going to be one of my few pieces of jewelry I wear that day. I figure that ring is the reason I'm getting married! lol :)

I've heard a bunch of different ideas on this topic. I think what I'll do is wear it on my right hand and then after we're married switch it back with my wedding ring.

I am thinking that I am going to wear it on my right hand (as weird as it's going to feel) and switch it over after the ceremony. There are a lot of different viewpoints on this though... I say do whatever you are comfortable with :)

Like most of the girls have said already, you can wear it on the other hand and switch it over afterwards, but honestly, you can just wear your engagement ring on your left hand, put the wedding band over and switch the order after the ceremony.

I might do that. Because I just tried to put my ring on my right hand and it didn't go so well..

When I got married the first time, our officiant said to wear it and put the wedding ring on, then switch them around later.

My finger on my right hand is larger than my left so my engagement ring wont fit on my right hand. I probably will wear it and put the wedding ring on, then switch them around later.

I agree, I'm going to keep it on my left hand and switch the order later.

So wait, the wedding band goes above the engagement ring on your finger?

I honestly just thought I would wear my engagement ring on the same finger, have him put the wedding band on, and keep them in that order. But I see that's not anyone elses answer so I guess that's not a common thing?

I'm wearing it on my right hand as well & then afterwards I will switch it. The order is wedding band, then E-ring (when taking them off, E-ring should come off first).

I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing it on my right hand until after the ceremony.... I'm horrified of anyone else holding onto it.... It's far too important to be misplaced. :]

And I've read that the wedding band should be worn closest to your heart.

On an everyday bases your wedding band is suppose to lay closes to your heart so it goes on first. I am actually getting my saughtered together before the wedding and won't wear anything the day of because it is bad luck towear your wedding band before you are married and my E-ring will be joined with it. So I won't wear eith ring until he puts them on me.

Ideas:

1. Wear your engagement ring on your right hand that day until after the wedding ring is on, then move it.
2. Give your engagement ring to someone else to hold/wear until after the wedding ring is on.
3. Have him put the wedding ring on over the engagement ring, and just switch them before the photos.
4. Some people use a ritual in which the best man holds both the wedding and engagement rings until the ring ceremony. The officiant first directs the groom to put the wedding ring onto the bride's finger. S/he then says something like, "The engagement ring is the promise of a commitment, and the wedding ring is the fulfillment of that promise. Please place the engagement ring on the bride's finger, over the wedding ring, to remind you to keep that promise the rest of your lives."
5. Don't wear your engagement ring at all that day.
