Bridesmiad with tatoos

Okay so I love my maid of Honor to death I do not get to see her that often I knew she had a large tattoo on her upper back and said we would deal with it no big deal now I found out there is a dagger and rose on her forearm. She and I both want to have ideas of covering it and no I do not want to do a jacket figured we can find a dress with a high back? Please help I'd appreciate it

all i can say is DERMABLEND you can find it at macy's for like $25. i have to use it to cover up my tatoos for work and it works AMAZING! it's totally worth every penny for it. it's a thick cover up made for tattoos and scars.

Look for a makeup artist that has a tatoo kit or airbrush kit that has covered tatoos. Tatoo kits you can buy (in the back of wedding magazines) are good, but you have to know how to use it. Make sure whatever you use, that it is water-proof and smear proof. OR you could always airbrush it out of your photos. Hope that helps!

Airbrush make up all the way! People swear by it cuz it doesn't glare or smudge.

hey there! congrats!
i am a lover of tattoo's but its always hard when it comes to deciding to cover or not cover..depends on the dress ect...if its a feminine tattoo or something drastic lol
i agree about the airbrush on kits as the thewowfactor mentioned...i have some tattoos myself and just regular concealers fade them out..but i havent found one that covers completley....
best wishes to you!!!!!

For the church, she should wear a shrug. Tattoos are not something I would do to myself but if your friend has one, let it show at the reception, if that's what she wants. I think people have to be themselves. If anyone is in shock, that is really their problem, not yours or hers. Best of luck!!

I see this as a creative problem, LOL
There are some pretty dresses with high cut backs from Dessy designs. you can find them online to view options.
If you cant find a high back I wouldnt toss out the shrug style jacket idea. These can be found in lace, velvet and are easy to have styled to be original. This would mainly be for the ceremony, and at the reception it wouldnt matter if she displays her ink! Its a party!
Other options would be the makeup, but it can be expensive to do an entire back, I;d camo only the sections showing arund sleeves if needed..

Some stores may have tattoo cover (not airbrush) but its like foundation. You can ask a local tattoo artist, they might know a place to get some. I found some at a local party store and you could probably google it.

Oooh...I don't know about that. I had a bridesmaid who had her tattoo airbrushed...and it rubbed off, all over her dress. everyone had to be careful not to touch her, and then get near the bride. Honestly, I'd have her hold her bouquet with her forearm facing in...have her wear her hair down, and just leave it at that. Her tattoo will be the last thing you remember on your wedding day...trust me! :) I'm sure if you ask her to somewhat hide it in pictures and during the ceremony she will...because other than that...it won't really matter, you know?

It's your day. If someone is offended about some skin art on your friend, that's their issue. Tell your Maid of Honor that you love her, and her appearance, just the way she is. I wish you well.

I like the bouquet idea. If you get bouquets that lay on the arm, problem solved. No worrying about make up smear and spending all that money. If hre hair isn't long enough to cover the one on the back, you can get shawls at bridal stores that she can just drape over during the ceremony. You can get them for all of the bridesmaids so it looks planned. My bridesmaids' dresses actually came with matching ones.

If you go the make-up route be sure your MUA uses a sealer. This will ensure the make-up doesn't rub off, sweat off and wear off. Keep in mind, your photographer may charge you to digitally remove the tattoo in any images where it shows.
Of course, you could embrace her for who she is, tattoo and all!
