We had our wedding during Rock Fest and Third Eye made sure the parking lot was tied off to prevent losing any parking for our guests. Everything went beautifully and our guests loved the space. We also had First Friday art on the walls which gave the space a wonderful ambiance.

This venue was beautiful and unique. I loved having my reception there and the art gallery was extra special!!!

The only problem we had was that even though they did not have anything going on the next morning, they would not allow us to pick up our stuff the next day, so my family had to rush around and get everything packed up and loaded, so they weren't able to fully enjoy the reception because they were worried about it.

Our reception at Third Eye Event Space was beautiful!

Positives:
-The location is really cool and fun. In the Crossroads District, close to Union Station, Crown Center, and Power and Light!
-Very modern interior. The two levels make it spacious and easy for guests to move around. So much potential for cool decorating but looks great if you did nothing to it! The art on the lower level is changed every month and makes for fun and free decoration!
-The staff is great to work with. Patty the event coordinator was always easy to get ahold of by phone or email. She made sure everything was good to go and gave reminders for when payments and other things were due. She was also there when the rentals were delivered so that I wouldn't have to be. She also went out of her way to make a set up time that was easier for me on the day of the wedding. Patty was very professional and great to work with. The day of our wedding, the man who was there throughout the setting up, reception, and clean up was also very kind and professional.
-We got so many compliments on the reception site. It was fun and modern. We used the lower level for dinner. There are two rooms, we used one for the buffet and the other for seating. The upper level had tons of space for dancing so the band set up there. We also had several tables and chairs set up. This is where we did the cake cutting and had the gift table and slide show. There is also a fun room off to the side that is great for more intimate seating and conversing. Very cool balconies with great views off the upper level as well. We loved the art work, clean lines, and openness of the whole place. It looks great at night! So easy to do whatever you want with it.
-I booked it on a Friday night for $500 less than it would have been on a Saturday night. This is the only loft-type reception space I found in Kansas City for $1500 that would seat the number of guests I needed. Great price for a great space.
-You bring in your own caterer! This was a big deal to me.

Negatives:
-We could only set up the day of. The contract states that set up time is a 4 hour block anytime after noon on the day of the event. This was very hard for us to do. Patty was extremely gracious in letting us come in the morning of to set up, but that is not their typical practice.
-We had to bring in everything that we wanted for the reception. We had to rent all our tables and chairs and make sure our band had all their own equipment. This makes the price of the location cheaper and allows you to really personalize everything, but does make for much more coordination of vendors.
-It is a little hard to find. Some of our guests had some trouble. Its tucked back in a side street that is not well marked. Make sure you give very clear directions!

All in all, Third Eye was great. It was exactly what I pictured for my wedding reception and turned out perfect!

Thrid Eye Event Space is a wonderful venue! We had our Ceremony and Reception in the space. It was modern and beautiful! Chrissy (venue manager) and staff were amazing and very responsive to all of our needs. We had so many quests tell us how wonderful the space was. It's the perfect location in KC downtown. Wonderful venue and staff!

Thanks,
Jennifer & Tyson Markham
