Grand Street Cafe was absolutely perfect for our wedding reception. Molly, the event coordinator, was great to work with all year answer my (many) questions and so helpful the night of. We could not have pulled it off without her!

We opted for a buffet and the food was great. We had compliments from friends after about it! We loved that we could go do the tasting ahead of time, but then even go try a few more appetizers later since some are served on the regular restaurant menu. They also really helped us accommodate a few food allergies for guests. Having the food & beverage services in house and done by a team of professionals also really helped make it stress-free/so much less to coordinate ahead of time. They know what they are doing!

The space itself is beautiful and fit our 225 guests comfortably, though I don't think I would go over that number. The white draped ceilings, string lights and center chandelier all show so beautifully in photos and it was awesome to have their tea lights/other options to mix in with our decor. We didn't need to add very much else other than flowers and signage! We did decide to order additional floor length linens different from what the agreement comes with, and Molly helped facilitate all of the ordering of those as well.

Vendors were able to get in that morning/afternoon to set up (flowers, cake, DJ, photo booth, etc. -- though we didn't need as many outside vendors since they already provide a lot!) and we were able to drop off items the week of/pick some up the next morning. The flexibility on this was a huge help.

And finally, parking is awesome! For our older family members, they made many comments about how easily accessible the parking was -- and that is a huge plus that not many venues closer in to the city/downtown have!

You can't go wrong with the The Grand St. Café no matter what you have in mind for your special day. We ended up utilizing both sides of the venue for our ceremony and reception as well as having our rehearsal dinner there the night before. First off, the entire team was amazing and made things easy and run smoothly. Molly listened to what we wanted, took measurements and pictures for us and worked with us to modify our food and drink packages to be exactly what we wanted. She was also so helpful on the day of the wedding getting everything in place and keeping us on track. Crystal and the entire wait/bar staff at the rehearsal dinner and reception deserve a huge round of applause as well as the service was second to none. Second, the venue was great, from the globe lights, to the table settings, to the large space that allowed everyone to spread out and have a good time. Lastly, the food was phenomenal (as it always is) and the drinks were plenty. We got so many compliments on how good the buffet was and how much fun everyone had, which happens with the top shelf bar package. All in all we wouldn't have changed a thing as it was the perfect place for our wedding. Thank you again everyone on The Grand St. Café team.

Grand Street was a perfect place for our daughters wedding reception. They were extremely accommodating in meeting all of our needs. The venue was very classy and the food was delicious.

Grand Street Cafe was so amazing and incredible for our wedding reception! Working with Logan (Event Coordinator for Grand Street) was a dream! I started the wedding planning journey about two years ago and Logan has been there every step of the way! She was very timely and open to ideas. She answered emails and texts non-stop! I always felt that she was working in your corner and always had my back. When my wedding day arrived, everything went so well! The space, appetizers, meals, and alcohol were so amazing and literally the best wedding meal a lot of my guests have ever had! The flow of the space works with all guests and is so easy with the private parking garage underneath the restaurant. Seriously, I'm so happy I went with Grand Street! I will for sure have another party there soon and I am recommending the venue to everyone I know!

We held my daughter’s wedding and reception for 210 people at Grand Street Café. Here are five reasons why you should consider this venue for your wedding or other special event: 1) Gorgeous space – The best way I can describe it is urban chic. It contains modern, loft-like elements with the warmth of beautiful dark hardwood floors and huge windows that overlook the Plaza. And it was large enough to accommodate both the ceremony and reception. 2) Everything included – When you rent the space at Grand Street, it includes tables, chairs (really nice chairs, not folding rental chairs), linens, candles and table numbers for the centerpieces (we just added a vase of flowers), a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, a sound system and ample underground parking. We didn’t have to worry about finding or paying for those items separately. That was especially nice since we were planning the wedding from out-of-town. 3) Amazing food – After the tasting, we were so excited about the food we had selected, and Grand Street did not disappoint. Here’s a direct quote from a guest: “The food was spectacular…the best food I have had at a wedding ever.” 4) Event staff – If you read the online reviews for Grand Street, you’ll see people talking about the venue’s event team, Logan and Elliot. They are amazing and will make your life so much easier. We had the pleasure of working with them both throughout the planning process, and Elliot served as our “day of” coordinator, making sure everything ran smoothly. 5) Value – For all these benefits, you would think the venue is expensive. It’s not. It’s one of the best values in Kansas City, and I researched wedding venues and vendors extensively before we made our choice. Having the wedding at Grand Street allowed us to entertain our family and friends with appetizers, a delicious dinner and a full open bar for a very reasonable cost. It was a beautiful and memorable night, thanks to the team at Grand Street.
