I had 2 cakes from Stephanie. She did a fabulous HUGE "cheeseburger" looking cake that was a surprise groom's cake at my rehearsal. The only reason this is 4.9/5.0 stars is because the cake was a bit late and most of my guests were already in the rehearsal dinner space by the time it was delivered (and it was delivered and LEFT with the restaurant next door, and I had to leave my rehearsal from greeting guests to go next door to get it myself!) However, that said, overall, I would still highly recommend Stephanie for several reasons.
#1 -- her cakes are SO delicious. They are not heavy and firm like most wedding cakes -- they are moist and very flavorful. And Stephanie's fondant is homemade marshmallow fondant instead of the normal hard pure sugar, odd rolled fondant that people typically put on their cakes to get that smooth appearance. Her fondant still gave my cakes a very smooth even look.
#2 -- The flavors are unique and delicious and she is very flexible and listens to what you are wanting.

Everyone at my rehearsal dinner and my wedding said that our cakes were the best they had every had at a wedding. We had people who went back for 2, 3 and even 4 pieces it was so good, unlike your typical wedding cakes which tend to be too heavy and boring tasting to even finish one piece!

Stephanie was a pleasure to work with, responsive, and in the end, delivered two wonderful cakes that were exactly what we wanted!!

Stepahie was amazing. She created a beautiful cupcake tower for over 200 guests. She is extremely creative and can make just about anything in any flavor. Our cupcake tower was gorgeous and she made fondant initials (we are M & M !) for our topper. Her prices were excellent and she was always quick to respond whenever we had a question. She arrived as promised and set everything up quickly for our reception. I would recommend her to anyone! She loves what she does and it shows in the final product!!

Piece A Cake provided me with a fabulous surprise grooms cake and a stunning wedding cake! Her flavors and the freshness of both cakes takes your breath away and you can't stop eating it! My favorite part was that she makes homemade fondant that tastes like marshmallows! The only complaint is that there seemed to be some miscommunication about some changes we made during our 2nd meeting that didn't make it onto the final wedding design, which she is working to fix in the future.

The cake was not on what we talked about in the consultation and the cake itself was dry. I requested extra icing and did not get it and when I wrote her an e-mail after the wedding to express my disappointment she did not even reply. She does pretty work- but my cake did not have what we talked about and I was upset about that. It was the only thing I did not like about my wedding.

Stephanie at Piece a Cake did a great job taking my design ideas and making it a cake reality. She's very excited about her work, and it shows in the quality of her cake. This cake was as good as (if not better than) anything I saw at Edible Art and Sweet Memories, but the price was much more reasonable. It's also worth noting that several people said is was one of the tastiest wedding cakes they'd ever had - both moist and flavorful. I highly recommend Piece a Cake to all the Triangle area brides out there. And please don't let the Fuquay address dissuade you - she'll bring it all to you in town for the tasting.

Stephanie at Piece-A-Cake was amazing to work with! She provided a tasting with all 6 of the flavors of cake I wanted to try AND all 5 of the different icings - often bakeries will limit you to a smaller amount so they don't have to do the work.

First, she did our grooms cake (check out her site, ours was the golf cake) and took a picture that I sent her and made it WAY better than I had ever imagined!

For our wedding cake, she took my sketch and make it EXACTLY how I wanted (it's on her site as well, black and white with polka dots), it was beautiful! Not only that, but the cake was soooo delicious!! It was THE most moist cake I've ever eaten!!

Not only did Stephanie make my wedding & rehearsal cake experiences perfect, but she bought a silver cake plateau for my wedding! I wanted my cake to be a very nice stand so she made the purchase to use for my cake and of course, for any future cakes!

I would recommend Piece-a-cake to every person I know who needs a cake for ANY occasion!
