I have been ordering birthday cakes from Phoenix for over 10 years now. I absolutely love how their cakes are not super sweet and how the almonds are toasty and crispy. The frosting is the perfect amount of sweetness and fluffiness. Oh and of course you have to get the fresh strawberries. Oh man I got carried off. This review is actually about my wedding cake. I always knew that I would order my wedding cake from phoenix but I still wanted to the cake tasting. Free cake! Yay. They actually bake a mini cake of whatever 3 flavors you want. We picked the strawberry, the custard and the marble. We met the head baker who is this cool surfer type guy. He let us try everything. I personally didn’t like the custard because it was too sweet and tasted like carmel. The marble was ok. We chose the traditional strawberry with spongy cake. The head baker was very frank with us and told us not to order too much cake because most guests wouldn’t eat it anyways. We had approx 170 guests so we ordered a cake that would feed 150. Unfortunately the servers at my venue were lazy and only served like 30% of the cake so we had tons left over. Our penthouse fridge couldn’t fit the leftovers so it basically went to waste. That totally pissed me off. Tip: remember to preserve the top layer and bring it back to PB because they will recreate it for you on your anniversary.

Cake (sponge with fresh strawberries and whipped cream) was just as delicious as we'd hoped. They delivered on-time and got our order just right. We had a late increase in the guest count and let Craig know, but he told us we'd still be ok with the cake sizes we'd ordered and wouldn't need to order more. We were very happy with the cake and even gobbled up the top layer the next day rather than freezing it for a year. We figured it'd be tastier just to buy ourselves some fresh cake for our anniversary instead.

The only warning I'd offer to others is that in warm weather, whipped cream doesn't hold up well. Knowing that the day was going to be a bit warm, the bakery told us they wouldn't deliver until 5:30 pm (our dinner started around 7 pm) so that the cake wouldn't get too warm. Also, our venue kept the cake indoors until shortly before serving at around 9 pm.

We had a simple, light cake w/ fruit and fresh whipped topping. It was lovely and perfect for an outdoor summer wedding!

Wonderful cake, and GREAT service! We were even able to place the final order over the phone,and only weeks before the wedding. Made everything super easy for us. In fact, we might head down there again tomorrow just for a slice of cake!

Delicious, light, fluffy cakes! Their signature strawberry cake is one of my favorite cakes ever. The cake itself looked beautiful and was delivered on time.

I'm a little sad because the bakery promised our cake would feed 120 people, but we ran out after 95 people, so several of our guests didn't get to experience any of the delicious cake (our venue scrambled to find some replacement cheesecake for them). This may be partly the venue's fault for cutting it too big, since Chinese cakes are usually cut much smaller - I can't be sure, since the venue insisted they cut it as thin as they could - but I would've gladly paid a little extra for some sheet cake to be sure, if they hadn't assured me that the cake would be enough. If they do expect the cake to be cut much smaller, perhaps it would help to notify the venue.

We didn't want to spend a fortune on our cake but still wanted something tasty, and Phoenix Bakery was the perfect choice. Their famous whipped cream cake (each tier had either strawberries or banana) was simple and delicious. We received rave reviews from our guests - too bad we barely got to taste it at the wedding, but good thing we saved the top tier to enjoy later. I don't think I'll be able to wait until our 1st wedding anniversary to dig in!

This is the most amazing bakery. The wedding cake was amazing, every guest never imagined a wedding cake to taste so good. They were so helpful and willing to adjust anything at anytime. I would highly recommend Phoenix Bakery for any wedding. Great staff and great product.

Craig from Phoenix Bakery was so professional and kind and willing to work with me! I hadn't found that in any other bakery. They give you mini cakes to bring home and sample. We got to have three different flavors for our wedding cake: one for each tier (chocolate with chocolate cream, yellow with strawberries and cream...mmmmm; and marble with chocolate mousse). Our cake was delicious and affordable. Honestly, it's the only affordable cake I found. They also delivered it on time in exactly the condition we talked about.

They were great. The cake looked and tasted incredible and you cant beat the price. Phoenix gets a big YUM YUM from me.

Phoenix Bakery did a great job with our wedding cake. They did not have many designs for us to choose from. The cake itself was very delicious though with whipped cream and strawberries. We added our own flowers to the cake and that made the cake look a lot more beautiful. The bakery was pretty easy to deal with and they delivered our cake to our reception site with no problems.

Very moist cake. Delivered it on time, with out any problems. Can virtually create anything your heart desires!

I cannot recommend this bakery enough! I first learned about them in Martha Weddings, and they made the most delightful strawberry and fresh cream wedding cake! Everyone was raving about it; it was the perfect summer wedding cake.
