For our wedding, we wanted to have a cake that was not only beautiful, fun, and classic, but have it taste as amazing as it looked and we can confidently say that Melanie at Sweet Pea Cakery not only hit it out of the park, but hit it out into the stratosphere!

My husband and I had a clear vision for our wedding and wedding cake and Melanie was with us every step of the way refining that vision and providing us with two different tastings to ensure the three custom flavors we wanted were executed perfectly. Not only was she so patient with our busy schedules, but truly worked with us on our special day not for us. We cannot recommend her, her talent, artistry, and flavor combination skills enough!

Our wedding cake not only tasted incredible to us, but all of our guests were raving about whatever flavors they had and how they were impressed that a structural cake like that was as soft, flavorful, and just straight up delicious. She also made us over 100 cannoli that we served on our dessert table and my Italian mother couldn't shut up about how they reminded her of her mother's cannoli.

We couldn't have asked for a better person to handle such an important element of our wedding and we CANNOT RECOMMEND Melanie and Sweet Pea Cakery enough! PLEASE meet with her for your wedding or event - it's insane how talented and wonderful she is!

From the cake to the communication to the desserts; everything start to finish was perfection. Melanie is truly a blessing to work with, making sure every detail is addressed and always open to suggestions. Her creativity is astounding and her skill even more! For my wedding, I knew I wanted a cake that was both delicious and aesthetically beautiful. Morever, as a general rule, I like to hire competent people who I can trust to do their craft with little micromanaging from my end. In both respects, Melanie hit the ball out of the park! Melanie made our wedding cake this past weekend—a four-tier masterpiece featuring signature chocolate, triple berry, lemon raspberry, and vanilla rose & strawberry flavors for approximately 95 guests. Nearly all of it was devoured! Each flavor was delicious and fresh, with no artificial flavoring in sight. The cakes were perfectly sweetened, just enough to accentuate their natural flavors, and had a lovely texture. The cake design was uniquely and authentically Melanie’s. Her signature style of painting florals with icing turned the cake into a piece of impressionist art. I’m already looking for excuses to order more of her cakes for future events! Melanie is wonderful to work with. I met her at her home for a private tasting with my bridesmaid. She created a warm and intimate experience, setting the tone for all our correspondence leading up to the big day. By the time my wedding arrived, I felt like she was a trusted friend. I was happy to give Melanie the freedom to do what she does best, and the result is that I got a unique and delicious cake that she had clearly put her heart into. I cannot recommend Melanie and Sweet Pea Cakery LA enough. Anyone who hires her will enjoy a cake that guests will devour and continue talking about long after the wedding ends!
