Meredith photographed our December wedding and we couldn't be happier!! We can't say enough to sing her praises -- she's so great to work with and made us look amazing!! When we shared our photos with family and friends, several people told us they wanted to get married all over again so they could have photos like ours!! Our entire experience working with her was low-stress and fun. For example, Meredith helped us with our "day of" schedule and timing (not just the photos but helped us think about the timing of the entire day), we did a walk through of our reception space and church about 2 weeks before to check the lighting and plan spots for photos, and she was responsive throughout (which is very helpful when you're stressing out as the day is approaching!!). She is professional, fun, and creative, she takes beautiful photos that tell a story, and our guests loved her. She captured so many special moments so beautiully. Meredith also did our engagement photos, which were great, and we look forward to having her photograph our family as it grows :-) If you're debating about a photgrapher, look no further.

Meredith Hanafi was extremely professional, friendly, flexible, and the pictures she took were absolutely stunning. We, my husband and I, used her for our engagement photos and our wedding. During our engagement shoot, she went where we wanted to take pictures and even recommended another place so we all got in our cars and drove to two separate locations. She is extremely thorough in getting the great pictures that we wanted. I could go and on about how great she is and how amazing the pictures are, but in a testament to how much we enjoyed working with her and how much we love our pictures, I recommended her to my family and my sister is using her for family portraits. Meredith was absolutely PHENOMENAL. She was wonderful during the planning process and even better on the day of...and I didn't even meet her until our wedding day! Everything was planned from a distance so most of our communication was via email and some phone calls. Meredith was always responsive and patient with me. We just got our wedding slideshow which gave us a sneak peek of the pictures and it was just awesome! I am so anxious to see all of the pictures. :) From the pictures on the slideshow, i am confident that Meredith captured the night perfectly so we can remember that special day in the years to come.

Love love love! Meredith was incredible this past September, helping us capture all the fun moments of our wedding. It was great to work with her. Meredith is the consummate professional photographer. She spent the entire day capturing our wedding day's preparations, family moments, ceremony, and reception--all with enthusiasm, good humor, and persistence. She was unobtrusive, but she somehow managed to capture all the day's special moments with artistic flair. The pictures she took were amazing! Needless to say, we were very happy with her work and would not hesitate to recommend her to photograph your special day.

Meredith was an absolute pleasure to work with! Out of all of our wedding vendors, she was by far our favorite and worth every penny. Our first meeting with her, she walked us through exactly what we should expect from a photographer and answered questions no other photographer brought up. She took the time to get to know us and our vision and personalities, instead of putting us in some box about what a "typical" bride or groom is like or what is trendy on the wedding blogs. She listened to our values and goals, and helped us understand how to prioritize so we could get our ideal end result. On our site-walk through, she told us exactly where we'd get good pictures and how and when it would be critical to take pictures. She listened to our needs and concerns and put them into practice, but also convinced us to change things around a bit to make sure that we got the best pictures. We knew she would be great with our families, some of whom could have been fussy or stressed around picture-taking, and she was! Everyone loved her and the way she was unassuming, laid-back, fun, and gentle but firm in getting what she needed and we wanted. On the day of the wedding, she made the entire day wonderful and was great to spend time with. I'm not a huge fan of taking a lot of pictures, and leading up to the wedding day, I kept saying that I was worried I'd get antsy taking pictures while my friends and family were mingling. But Meredith made everything fun, relaxing, and made me feel not at all self-conscious. She actually gave us a lot of excuses to get away from the wedding craziness to spend quality time together - just with a photographer capturing the great moments. The pictures she took were phenomenal - and got everything we asked for! We are so glad we went with Meredith and will have her photos to enjoy forever. We go out of our way to recommend her to friends, and we'd absolutely hire Meredith again for other important occasions/family photos.

Meredith is the best! Meredith was our photographer for our September 2011 wedding and we absolutely love our photos! She was able to capture the essence of our day on film - every time we look at our pictures, it brings us right back to that wonderful day! Because she has a more candid style, she captures some of the best moments of the day. That being said, even though she has a more candid style generally, we absolutely loved our portraits as well - she can do it all! Best of all, I didn't feel like I spent my whole wedding day posing for pictures. I can't say enough good things about Meredith! I would highly recommend her to any bride!

We happened upon Meredith by chance when we planned our last minute wedding, but were incredibly surprised by our luck in finding such a wonderful photographer. We were a little concerned about having a photographer tagging along at our intimate wedding at the Jefferson Memorial in DC, but her presence was such a pleasure - she really made our day even more special. The photos are truly amazing and we will treasure them forever. We got lucky that day, but we have a photographer for life and we would not trade her for the world.

My dreams came true of having the perfect wedding photos of me and my husband for our special wedding day (May 2011) ! Thanks to Meredith Hanafi 'Photograpy' for her ability to capture every second through her lenses of the event. Meredith takes alot of photos so if you want to have security that she will catch that one look or moment, then you've found your photographer! We <3 Meredith! She's such an amazing photographer, sweet person and an absolute pleasure to work with. We hired Meredith to shoot our wedding in Brooklyn on Labor Day. Not only were her photos amazing but I barely even noticed she was there. She captured but didn't interrupt any of our moments and made us feel comfortable to just be ourselves. Trust me, you will be beyond happy with her.

I could not have been happier with every part of Meredith's photography. She was thorough and supportive during the whole planning process, and on the day of the wedding she was so wonderful with me and my whole family (not the easiest bunch). Above all, the images we now have forever truly amaze me, and I really can't stop looking at them even now. She even took incredible pictures of our dog that we are obsessed with (I think she has a unique talent for photographing pets). I am counting the days until we see her again to photograph our growing family with our new baby boy.

Meredith is a gem. She is incredibly creative and knowledgeable. She helped us choose the perfect settings for our shots and we were able to capture the beauty of our venue (lake setting) along with some amazing candid moments. Meredith was also really helpful with the planning of the day, she's been at a lot of weddings so she made some suggestions about our timing and we found that to be really helpful. Overall she's a fabulous photographer and a warm and genuine person, we loved working with her.

Meredith worked with me and my husband and our two pups to do a "family" photo session in October of this year. I liked my wedding photos, but I wasn't totally blown away so I was looking forwarding to having more photos done at the park where our wedding reception was held.

I found Meredith via an online search (I can't remember specifically where I first saw her business or website) and decided to go with her initially for the following reasons:

1) Her portfolio was exactly what I was looking for. A good mix of portrait shots, but also fully embracing the photojournalism style. I also liked that I saw props and lots of pets in her photos.
2) Her prices are UNBEATABLE. I looked. For $395 we received 1.5 hours of photo time at a location of our choice in the DMV, we would receive hi-rez files on a dvd at the end that we could print out at the location of our choice.
3) She was responsive. This is a biggie for me. When everything is done at the speed of the internet, it's preferable to work with someone who responds in a timely fashion!

Prior to our photo shoot Meredith provided great advice about what to bring and what to wear. She was excited about working with our dogs and indicated she was very experienced with that.

On the day of our session, everything ran very smoothly. Meredith was great at directing us and getting great shots from us and the dogs, but was also totally open to what I wanted to do -- for instance, I brought a bottle of champagne which we opened while she photographed, I also wanted to recreate a few pictures from our wedding, etc. Plus she really makes you feel like a star while she's shooting you! I can't say enough too about how great she was with the dogs.

We received our photos back in about 4 weeks, which was just fantastic given that we took our pictures at the height of DC wedding season. Even though we would be printing the pictures on our own (though you can order prints through her!!), Meredith still set up an online slideshow for us, which was awesome for sharing the pictures with our families. We received our disc of photos in a cute little tin with a personalized note from Meredith, which was such a nice touch and just proves further that she is someone who goes the extra mile for her clients.

The pictures themselves were FANTASTIC. We can be wildly photogenic and I sincerely felt like Meredith capture the best looks from us both in every picture. I cannot tell you how pleased I was. I cannot WAIT to work with Meredith again for maternity photos, newborn shots, family pictures, etc. in the future. The value and quality that Meredith provides absolutely cannot be beat!! I only wish I'd found her before my own wedding in 2009!

I would recommend Meredith without reservation anyone looking for a wedding, engagement, or family photographer. I was very happy, and I can be hard to please. :)
