Stumbling upon the So Tender is Humanity website during our exhaustive search for a wedding photographer proved to be one of the most important, if not the most important, moments of me and my wife's wedding planning journey. It's not entirely difficult to articulate what one wants in a photographer – in our case: authenticity, candidness, heart, motion, an almost complete disregard for convention – but to find someone who can successfully execute your vision is an entirely different prospect. However, it only took a few moments of browsing Alex and Anastasiia's website and portfolio to realize we had found our partners for this journey. And that's exactly what Alex and Anastasiia were: partners. Sure, they are masterful photographers. Actually, that's doing them a disservice; let's go with virtuosos of the visual. However, what truly separates them is how they approach the relationship. We weren’t just subjects through a lens. Whether it was the kickoff call, the assorted follow-ups, our engagement shoot or the big day – we felt valued, we felt heard, we felt involved. In truth, it felt like we developed a friendship along the way that proved to be the catalyst for some of the best photos I’ve ever viewed. Genuinely. From our engagement shoot at Dave & Buster’s (where my wife and I first met) to our boho wedding at Brentsville Hall, Alex and Anastasiia captured these milestone moments with flair, gusto, beauty, warmth and realness. The spirit of my wife and I courses through these photos, to an extent we didn’t even know was possible. Alex and Anastasiia are creatives in the truest sense of the word, but more importantly, they are incredible human beings. We are forever grateful to Alex and Anastasiia and cannot wait to work with them again.

Nicole photographed our wedding in October of 2023 in DC. She was wonderful to work with from start to finish. From our initial phone call, to engagement photos, to the wedding day, she had such a friendly, upbeat, helpful, and reassuring attitude - which is something you really want on your wedding day, when you're going to spend the majority of the day with your photographer! We got many compliments from family and friends on her attitude and ability to manage timelines and personalities throughout the day. She made our wedding day as easy and stress free as it could have possibly been. And of course, the photos!! Nicole is incredibly talented. We knew we wanted someone whose style wasn't so 'cookie cutter' - we felt like a lot of photographers in the area showcased the same poses and vibes for every wedding, while Nicole had a unique approach to creating photos that felt very personal but were still timeless. This absolutely ended up being the case with our photos - we love the whole gallery and not only did we get great photos of the two of us, we have such amazing candid photos of family and friends that we will cherish. Hire Nicole, you will not regret it!

Boraie Photography is a 5+ star vendor in our opinion! Mohammed is the most talented and incredible photographer who should be featured in magazines. The pricing is phenomenal. It is such a good value! He is extremely artsy and he has a true professional eye to capture the most magnificent shots and backgrounds. He makes you feel so comfortable and makes it fun for you! We liked the fact that he calls you before the photo shoot to find out more about you because he wants to capture the couple in a beautiful and authentic way. Mohammed is always asking how you are feeling during the shoot because he cares about you as the couple and doesn't want to put pressure on you and wants it to be a good experience! We truly feel blessed to have met Mohammed just because he is an amazing photographer and he is super nice and fun. Seriously, a 5+ star rating for a top notch vendor!

Thien and Tami are by far one of our favorite vendors for our wedding. They were responsive, gracious, and caring photographers who truly go out of their way to get unique and wonderful shots to capture your special event. We first met them at another couple's wedding and loved their work. Luckily, they were available for our engagement shoot and wedding date and we could not be happier with our choice. They were on time for our shoot, fantastic with the guests, and helped capture all of the photos that we wanted from our list. Not to mention, they also recommended DJ services who were fantastic as well! We LOVE the work Thien and Tami did for our engagement photos and we cannot wait to see our wedding photos captured this past weekend. We would HIGHLY recommend Thien and Tami to all engaged couples. THANK YOU, Thien and Tami-- you guys are the best :)

We hired Matt & his colleague Jordan Bush (reviewed separately) to photograph our wedding. We had such a great time with them! The photos they took are fantastic, and they didn't waste time doing any of the boring shots we didn't want. They practically disappeared into the crowd all night - I'd forgotten they were even there! I'd definitely recommend.

Lindsay was wonderful to work with for our 60-person restaurant wedding. She was so professional and efficient during getting ready photos and portraits, helping us feel comfortable despite our nerves! And so seamless in her work during the event itself. And the photos are absolutely beautiful - so bright and romantic, while still feeling authentic, which is exactly what I had hoped for. Highly recommend Lindsay!

Working with Olivia was the best!!! I couldn't recommend her enough. Olivia was incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. She truly is so talented! We are so happy with our wedding photos and couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Her associate/second shooter, Leah, was also incredible and wonderful to work with on our wedding day!

Neysha is an amazing photographer and I highly recommend her for your wedding or other photography needs. She is kind, patient, communicative, organized, and talented. My husband and I knew we made the right choice when we did a pre-wedding engagement-style photoshoot with Neysha and she put us both right at ease. She made it feel like we were hanging out with an old friend, who happens to be a really talented photographer. She captured candid moments so beautifully and directed us for posed photos, which was especially helpful for us since we're not used to having professional photos taken! We had a multicultural wedding with a bunch of elements and she was very helpful in the planning process, helping us figure out how much coverage was needed, what our goals were, etc. On the day of the wedding, Neysha was a complete rockstar. And it's not just me who noticed -- I had family and friends coming up to me at the wedding and in the days afterwards praising her. She kept the trains on the track, skillfully wrangled large groups of family, and made my husband and I feel comfortable and cared for. She ensured we could be in the moment and have fun and not worry about the logistics. The preview photos she sent are stunning. She captured so many special moments and emotions in such beautiful and real ways — I am so grateful to her and her team. One other thing I want to note. It's not a given that all photographers can skillfully photograph a multiracial couple. I've seen photos where one person is washed out, or overexposed or contrasted because it can be tricky to photograph starkly different skin tones. If this applies to you, let me reassure you -- Neysha is very skilled at this. I can't say enough good things about how well she captured the diversity of our family and friend group. To sum it up -- hire Neysha. You won't regret it. Worth every penny.

Porter was amazing to work with. From the initial communications, I knew she would be the perfect fit for us. She was accommodating to the style of pictures we wanted and was sooo good with our puppy and included him in the shots when we wanted. Porter was great at communicating and her pictures were finished in a timely manner - we didn’t have to wait months like some of my friends have waited! In two weeks we got all our shots and they were stunning. She also handled the Covid protocols perfectly and had a mask and stayed far away which made us feel comfortable. I hope to work with Porter again for a family photo shoot. Her pictures are perfect!

I don't even know where to begin! I was short on time and in need of a good photographer. I didn't just want ANY photographer but one who had true passion for their craft and understood the needs of their customers. After meeting with a few that were disappointing, I took a chance on Craigslist and saw a wedding special from BMP. This young lady and her staff were AMAZING! We live a car-free life, but she drive 30-40 minutes to meet with us. Her responses to our emails were ALWAYS prompt. The price that we paid for the quality of pictures was phenomenal. Quality, quality, quality! She even got me a 3rd photographer at no charge to cover the rest of my wedding because she had one right behind mine. The 3rd photographer was excellent as well. Brittany was on time, creative, blended in with our family and just made me forget they were even there! I especially love how she has an emergency bridal kit on hand! I'm glad God led my (now) husband and I to her and honestly it really does help to have a photographer that is married and has gone through all of the ups and downs that come with wedding planning. I HIGHLY recommend her company.
