Wedding Photography in Reston

Andrea of The Observatory is a true artist. We knew Andrea was the right photographer for us after our first meeting. Andrea’s photography style and portfolio make her stand out and not only is she talented, she’s also beyond friendly and made working with her a lot of fun. Andrea guided us with her recommendations to create our wedding day timeline which kept us organized throughout the planning process. We can truly say everything went according to schedule which made us very happy, and relieved! Andrea and her partner Stephen put everyone at ease and captured our special moments from getting ready, to our First Look, to our church ceremony to our reception. We can’t recommend Andrea enough & are so grateful to have worked with her!

We wanted a professional photographer for our church ceremony only so we hired Keith & Associates Fine Photography, using their "Buy the Hour" option. The response to our initial email was quick, and our face-to-face meeting went very well. For the day of the wedding (July 17), he and an associate photographer were prompt and took excellent pictures, both candid and posed. They were very professional and easy to work with. The photos were available online within 3 days of the ceremony, and the (unedited) high-resolution DVD was ready for pickup within 1 week of the ceremony. We have full rights to print images from the unedited DVD for our photo album. Edited photos are available online for purchase, but the photo quality of the unedited DVD is excellent, so we will likely only buy the edited photos for display in our picture frames.

Ruben did an outstanding job for our wedding!! During our first meeting with him, he didn't try to high pressure sell us; he just let his work speak for itself, and it did. Throughout the process he was professional and reliable and responsive. On our wedding day, he not only managed our requested list of photos, he added an artistic touch and found excellent backdrops for the pictures. He also suggested some additional pictures, which ended up being some of our favorites! During the ceremony and reception he did a great job capturing the event without being intrusive. Finally, we ended up going with his package that included the photo book. We just picked it up and couldn't be more pleased! We highly recommend Ruben!!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Charlotte and the photography she provided for our October wedding at Rust Manor. We hired Charlotte because of her natural and unposed/photojournalistic style of taking photos. Both her and her assistant captured so many subtle details of our wedding day. Working with Charlotte to plan and put together our schedule ahead of time was also easy. She was flexible, and offered advice for when to schedule family/group shots, etc. Within a few days after the wedding day, she uploaded a few photos of our wedding to her blog, and we received the online version of our photos by the time we got back from our honeymoon. I was amazed at how quickly she turned our photos around for us. In addition to photographing our wedding day, Charlotte also met up with us for an hour at Meadowlark Gardens to shoot some engagement shots for us. We used these for our Save the Dates. Charlotte is calm, easy going, creative, and fun - we are so grateful she could be a part of our wedding day. Having quality photos were a high priority for us, and Charlotte certainly exceeded our expectations.

Kurstin is a phenomenal and talented photographer and artist! He takes high quality photographs, that have a brightness to them that bring joy to anyone who views them. He’s very flexible to the style of the couple, and applies his artistic talent to ensure the photographs he takes impress. Further he has such a fun personality, which is so important as he spends more of the day with the bride than possibly anyone else. His ability to make people smile makes him a pleasure to work with, and ensures he captures sincere happiness in his photos.

Claudia was such a delightful wedding photographer. She was a pleasure to work with, efficient at capturing hundreds of photos, and her pictures turned out perfect! I would absolutely recommend hiring Claudia as your photographer!

May and her assistants spent the day with us on our wedding day. They arrived at 10:30 am and did not quit until after 10:30pm. She was amazing! I love May because she isn't a typical stuck up photog. She is so fun and has a perfect eye for the moment. She and her crew captured photos where we forgot they were even around, they captured some very heartfelt moments with all of us. In addition to her extremely good eye and talent, she is quick! By half way through the reception she had a laptop with photos from the day on a slide show set on one of the tables for my guests to watch! Also, she had over 100 photos loaded to a website for me to review/purchase less than 2 days after the wedding, and she has many more to post. These pictures are all beautiful too, I would buy all of them if I could! The quality of the shots are breathtaking. One of my bridesmaids is a Pulitzer nominated photojournalist and she is extremely impressed with May's work. This says a lot as my experience is that other photogs are very critical of others work. I highly recommend May, I will hire her any time in the future that I need professional photographs taken for any occasion.

We used Erin to take our engagement photos and were so impressed with how they turned out that we begged her to do our wedding photography too! She was not only very professional and responsive, she really included us in the process and made it a whole lot of fun! She had a lot of creative ideas and different ways of taking pictures that I would have never considered. Some of those shots turned out to be our absolute favorites. She is especially good with children and keeps them interested by explaining in kid friendly terms what she's doing and letting them "help" take some pictures. We have also gotten many of our pictures back ahead of schedule and she's even taking suggestions from us on editing. For example, I wanted to see one photo in black and white with the flowers still in color and she is editing that for us now. We would highly recommend Erin to anyone looking for a photographer, not just for a wedding, but for engagement photos, family photos, or senior photos. The pictures of the flowers, the cake, and the decorations are superb as well, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for advertising either!

From the first time Amy spoke to us to describe her working style and professional services, to the preparations leading to the day and the day itself, and the post wedding work afterwards, we are so pleased and happy with everything. First and foremost, the quality of the photographs is top notch, but more than that, Amy is so easy and flexible to work with. She is both a seasoned professional and a compassionate person, which for a wedding event, is hard to find. We are thrilled with the photos and the wedding album full of memories that we continue to cherish.

Eric and Donella were our wedding photographers this past November. I found it very easy to work with them. Once I submitted an inquiry through their website, they contacted me within a day with a proposal. Their prices are very good compared to other photographers in the DC area. We did not have an engagement session, due to our work schedules. However, we did meet with them prior to the wedding and talk in detail about the schedule for our event and discussed pictures that we wanted to take. For example, we talked about taking pictures at the hotel prior to the wedding and some locations for outdoor photos prior to the ceremony. They are very open and cool and are easy to work with. I did not know what to expect since my husband and I are not used to being photographed. They worked with us to get great pictures, and we felt comfortable. They captured all of the action at the ceremony and the reception. The composition and detail of the pictures is amazing. The detail and sequencing of the photos was so good that several people who viewed the photographs told me that it was just like being at the wedding all over again. I have had a great time looking at these photos and seeing little details that I did not notice the day of the wedding. After the wedding, they sent us an online gallery within a month, which had a link to all of our pictures and was password protected. We were able to share the photos with family and friends and also order photos from the website. We started the album design process with them a couple of months after the wedding. We have already received our completed album, less than six months after the wedding. My husband and I could not be more pleased with our album! It is gorgeous. Eric's layout and design are something special. He is very talented. We are so happy with how everything went from start to finish and would highly recommend Eric and Donella.
