Hi there, I'm Rachel, a portrait and wedding photographer based in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's degree in Film Studies from the University of Edinburgh, I have spent over 15 years honing my skills and deepening my understanding of photography as an art form. Currently residing in Northern Virginia, I’m fortunate to have grown up in the DC area surrounded by both historical landmarks and breathtaking natural wonders, fostering my love for capturing people in these remarkable locations. When I'm not behind the camera, I’m often delving into the world of mid-century design, exploring my hands-on creativity through pottery on the wheel, enjoying movies, and going on hikes with my husband, Jamie. Oh, and I can’t forget about our long-haired cat, Finn, who always makes sure our days are “eventful” and keeps us on our toes at home.

I focus on the action and emotion, as well as the quiet, in-between moments when documenting, never prioritizing one over the other. After a refined post-production process, I’ll deliver timeless photos; forever stills from a moment in your life. You live a unique experience that should be told in a genuine way - and I’m here to capture it.
