Andrea of The Observatory is a true artist. We knew Andrea was the right photographer for us after our first meeting. Andrea’s photography style and portfolio make her stand out and not only is she talented, she’s also beyond friendly and made working with her a lot of fun. Andrea guided us with her recommendations to create our wedding day timeline which kept us organized throughout the planning process. We can truly say everything went according to schedule which made us very happy, and relieved! Andrea and her partner Stephen put everyone at ease and captured our special moments from getting ready, to our First Look, to our church ceremony to our reception. We can’t recommend Andrea enough & are so grateful to have worked with her!

Andrea was my dream wedding photographer! She was incredibly thorough in all the upfront planning and flexible on the day of when we asked for any additional pictures, changes, etc. She prides herself on capturing the day and not being part of the day - and she does it! She was there but never obtrusive and got everything we asked for. She delivered all of our photos on time and they are amazing. It was so great to relive the day through her lens. In addition to all the standard bride/groom/family snaps, we asked her to really focus on our family and friends so we had amazing photos of all those dear to us. She did not disappoint. The smiles, joy and laughter come through on every shot. Thanks Andrea!

OMG...where do I begin! The documentary style of Andrea's images were so stunning that I had to order ALL 887 photographs! It took me hours and hours to get down to 200 images to put in an album. The funny thing is that I hardly remember them being at the wedding..that's how descrete they were:) AND, they are such nice people. Worth every dollar paid.

Photography was the vendor we had the hardest time choosing. After all the deliberating, we couldn't have been happier that we worked with Andrea Jacobson of the Observatory. First, Andrea made everything about taking pictures fun (a big plus if you're not comfortable with being in front of the camera for hours!). Our engagement session and portraits after the wedding were a breeze. At the reception, we didn't even know she was there, although she covered EVERYTHING. Second, she's incredibly responsive and helpful--she had great ideas about potential portrait sites and even scouted them in advance. (Note: definitely fill out her questionnaires and do a pre-wedding consultation, as she suggests--they make planning a breeze). Finally, Andrea herself is a joy to work with--we never worried about getting the shots we wanted and were absolutely thrilled with the results. This was our splurge, vendor-wise, and it was worth every penny. I can't recommend the Observatory highly enough!

Absolutely stunning! The pictures turned out wonderfully! Plus, Andrea Jacobson is a pleasure to work with. She made our lives easier with her flexibility, creativity and expertise. Creating the wedding album was easy, and Andrea was also available to help or assist with any questions. Are wedding pictures are incredible!

When advised to prioritize my wedding budget based on the items that were most important to me and my husband – photography was number one! I knew the wedding would last only a few hours, but the pictures would be forever. I went on the hunt for a vendor that had worked in my venue space before, so they would be familiar with the lighting, the angles, and best photo opportunities, but once I met with Andrea I knew that no matter where I decided to have my wedding she would be my photographer of choice. Andrea was excellent! Nothing short of the friendly professional every bride needs! We had worked with her for our engagement portraits just to get a feel for how things would work on our wedding day and seeing how those portraits came out, I had no doubt the wedding pictures would be just as beautiful. Andrea has tons of package and photo album options. Her online proofing gallery gave tons of options for settings, coloring, etc. I valued Andrea’s photographer eye, with regards to lighting and color choices. She has an excellent process for capturing the wedding day timeline, the wedding day portraits, or any particular details of our wedding day that we wanted captured. She did this all to make things very seamless on the day of. I loved that on my wedding day she worked so well in the background – there was no obstruction to anything that me and my husband or our guests were doing. Overall – EXCELLENT JOB! If photography is as important to you as it was to us… HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I would say at least schedule a meeting with Andrea and you would quickly see The Observatory difference!

Simply said.... AMAZING!!!! We had an uncoventional wedding which spanned over 2 days and 2 different locations. Andrea Jacobson was AMAZING!!!!!! Since we needed a unique package, she worked with us to develop one that worked for us. at one event we needed multiple photographers, and everyone she brought was professional and the photos speak for themselves. I have over 800 and I can't seem to decide ones that I don't like, since they are all so unique. They captured funny moments with the kids, emotional moements of mine and my family. They were everyone and you got to see every angle. She even showed me what the food looked like, since I didn't have time to see that location during the event itself! She also did our engagement photos and made my husband and myself feel comfortable and relaxed, which showed in the pictures. HIGHLY RECOMMNED!!!!

While I haven't received my photos from Andrea Jacobson yet, I didn't want to wait to write a review! It was an absolute joy to work with her over this past year - and I would highly recommend her to any future bride in the DC area. Her professionalism and personality are both so wonderful, and she was so helpful in guiding us through the photography process. We love The Observatory!!

ABSOULTELY AMAZING, STUNNING, BRILLIANT! Must use this photographing company, the pictures turn out perfect. I got so many compliments on our pictures, many people even saying these belong in Time Magazine or wedding magazines...that was how great they looked. Always prompt with emails and flexible to what you are looking for. You can always substitute things in your packages and use your credits however you'd like...such an amazing group of people! It is a bit pricey, but WELL WELL WELL worth it, wouldn't have changed a thing! You definitely get what you pay for, and it's pricey because it's THAT GOOD!

Andrea and Rachel photographed my wedding. The pictures were absolutely amazing, as is Andrea. She is super nice and was great to work with. The pictures exceeded my expectations and everyone is still talking about them 6 months after the wedding. They covered all of the great moments of my wedding. Andrea was always very responsive to all of my needs/emails and I would highly recommend using Observatory.
