Elegance & Simplicity, an event design company based in Washington, DC, creates elegant weddings in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro areas with a team of professionals along wth Destination Weddings anywhere in the world. The designers will work with each couple to create a mid- to high-end event from beginning to end. They also specialize in eco-friendly weddings and are a leader in sustainable wedding design. They provide consultations up front, along with samples and event design suggestions inspired by a couple's own style and personality. Elegance & Simplicity will even visit the wedding venue ahead of the big day. They provide a team of wedding planners, floral designers, graphic artists, calligraphers, lighting specialists, and design carpenters to custom design a wedding style tailored to each couple. We have custom bars available for you big day as well!

Thank you Elegance & Simplicity!!!

Katie and Miguel from Elegance and Simplicity exceeded all our expectations with their floral arrangements and wedding design. The flowers were stunning, and Katie helped us capture the essence of our vision. On the day of the wedding, Miguel and Chrishaun were on-site to efficiently manage the setup and breakdown of all decorations. Chrishaun, our day-of coordinator, was an absolute gem. She was always available to assist us. Chrishaun helped to draft a detailed timeline, provided great ideas for our rehearsal, and executed everything flawlessly on our wedding day. Her dedication ensured that our day flowed seamlessly, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you, Elegance and Simplicity, for making our wedding day truly beautiful and everything we imagined it to be.

Fantastic Lighting!

Elegance & Simplicity were so great to work with! We hired them to help with string lighting at our venue and the lights were stunning, and made the backyard of the venue sparkle. We would happily work with them again.

Beautiful flowers and amazing experience!

Katie was amazing to work with. Right from the start, she understood our vision. We had a smaller budget to work with, and she was very helpful in determining what we could include while being mindful of the budget. The flowers themselves were stunning. I got so many compliments on the bouquet. The additional ceremony decor and centerpieces were also lovely. She was professional and easy to work with. Would highly recommend!

6/23/23 Wedding at The Toolbox in Dupont Circle

Katie and her team at Elegance and Simplicity were absolutely fantastic. From the moment I zoomed with Katie about our wedding, I felt confident she would execute magically. I went into the call very unsure and indecisive, but she really helped me bring the vision together. I also appreciated how she wasn't pushy at all, but still showed me all sorts of options that would help elevate the space. Even with how busy she is, she never left me in the dark or went days without responding to my silly emails. Katie was willing to help wherever she could and did it with a smile on her face. The flowers AND décor (amazing vintage glassware and various misc items) were so pretty and I received so many compliments. I also love how you can see how much she enjoys her job and works effortlessly to make her clients happy. Katie is honest, friendly, and a breath of fresh air. I hope to have a reason to work with her and her team again! I highly recommend using her services for your next wedding or special event :)

Exceptional Wedding Florist - Elegance & Simplicity

We had the pleasure of working with Katie from Elegance & Simplicity for our wedding, and we cannot recommend her highly enough! Katie did an incredible job with our chuppah and floral design, capturing the essence of our theme while also exceeding our expectations.

Not only was Katie punctual and always quick to respond to our inquiries, but she was also extremely amenable to our changes in the floral design later in the process.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Katie and Elegance & Simplicity to our friends, family, and anyone in need of a top-notch wedding florist!

Excellent florsit

My wife and I hired Elegance and Simplicity for our wedding on 10/28/2022. Katie Martin was fantastic. She was easy to work with, and came up with recommendations that really reflected what we were looking for. Katie also happily accommodated some last minute additions that we wanted, which we were very grateful for. When the day came, I was absolutely blown away by her arrangements. Everything looked full, luscious, and vibrant. We could not be happier with how our flowers turned out! My wife's bouquet stayed fresh and gorgeous for several days after the wedding, which was amazing. the flower quality was beyond what we expected!

Fantastic florals

We had Elegance and Simplicity do our florals and they knocked it out of the park. Katie helped us to articulate our vision for what the flowers could be, brought a creative and detail oriented eye to everything, and it showed! Our flowers were so gorgeous, the chuppah was perfect, and our table settings were so special.

Creative and beautiful florals

I fell in love with Katie Martin's flowers on Instagram and originally signed on with her team to do the flowers, bistro lighting, and day-of-coordination for my wedding in October 2020. When we had to reschedule to October 2022 due to Covid, we were so grateful that Katie was able to rebook our contract.

Working with Katie was great! She is so attentive to every single detail, be it flowers for the bouquets and table arrangements, or the subtle decor sprinkled throughout the venue. I had a vision to embrace the natural beauty of our venue (Woodend Sanctuary), and Katie ran with the theme so well. My bouquet was beyond gorgeous and the flowers for our ceremony were breathtaking. I can't wait to get our pictures back so I can admire everything she designed. Also, her team is so, so good. They ran such a smooth show behind the scenes of the wedding and reception. You really can't go wrong with Katie and her team.

Chrishaun is the best

We had day of coordination provided by Chrishaun at E&S and it was nothing short of wonderful. She was was with us every step of the way and was instrumental in making sure every detail of the day was perfect. From our pre-wedding meetings to the day of, Chrishaun was there we we needed her and took tons of stress away from us. Would highly recommend E&S and Chrishaun to anyone looking for an excellent coordinator in the DMV area!

Our multi-element intercultural wedding...

... was perfectly handled by Katie and her team! Her experience with Hindu and Jewish weddings allowed her to provide support to our Hindu-Jewish ceremony without complication. She had the cultural vocabulary and knowledge needed to make us feel supported and respected, and she did a great job of balancing keeping our vendors on time with calling audibles when needed. She was also super thoughtful throughout the day, getting us food and water and other necessities without us having to ask for them. She also ensured we had a few minutes of private time as a couple immediate after the ceremony and before the reception! We really appreciated that she lent us some of her personal items to help round out our decor look, like frames for the signature cocktails. She also knew when to take artist liberty with certain decisions vs. coming to us to check, and I felt like she checked on us as the couple just the right amount on our wedding day. We're so grateful for Katie!
