For thirity years, Jim Johnson, a PPA Craftsman, and Certified Photographer, has photographed events for paupers as well as Presidents. Over a thousand corporate and social events – original stories intended to engage the viewer, kindle the imagination and speak to the heart. Jim likes to say, “In the naked city there are a million stories and no two stories are the same.”

He has studied with the contemporary masters of his craft, and the works of the legendary pioneers. Subsequently, he exercised the courage to walk his own path. He believes that the greatest challenge we face today is to just be ourselves in a world that is constantly promoting conformity. The challenge of capturing an image that communicates to the viewer ethereal essence of the human experience is the fuel for his passion.

“Life is a collection of memories – some fleeting and others indelibly etched in the mind.” Montage verité is his unique style of storytelling that provides his clients with vivid vignettes that authentically convey the experience of participation to the viewer. Best of all, the guest will hardly notice the photographers’ (the witness) presence. “Nothing comes closer to reality.” The greatest desire for the event client today is to see and experience the decisive moment (authenticity) in the photographs. Jim is a Professional Photographers of America, Int’l. Certified Photographer, Craftsman. He has presented seminars nationally, introducing his approach to visual storytelling. His award winning photographs have been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Town & Country, Organic Weddings, as well as trade publications and college textbooks. He has served as president of national and state affiliates of the Professional Photographers of America.

The Picture-Story Studio also features a new talent to the storytelling business. Lisa Haynes like Jim, has an advanced degree in engineering focused on imaging and has chosen to follow her heart, and use her talents as a visual storyteller to enrich the lives and touch the hearts of wedding couples.
