About
My name is Erin. My company is Halo Photographic.

I am a former newspaper photojournalist. That's right - I've covered drug busts, sporting events, political scandals, the occasional county fair, and much more. Today I use the skills that I honed at the paper to document weddings.

What I love about weddings is that I get to help my couples document their own family history as it is happening. With this in mind, I try to remain as unobtrusive and hands-off as possible, allowing the day to happen as it will. You will not be handed off to an employee or associate. You get my undivided and complete attention through the entire process.

I am also one of the few photographers in the world offering Gelatin Relief images. It's a complex process, but it is based in traditional darkroom printing with a little corrosive acid action thrown in, resulting in one of a kind, beautiful pieces of art from your wedding! You can check my blog for more information. I am very excited to be offering this exclusive service to my wedding and portrait clients!

I invite you to take a moment and check out my web site and my blog to see examples of my work. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Halo Photographic is also on Facebook, if you'd like to become a fan and see what I'm up to there. I'd love to discuss the details of your wedding and give you some more information about my photography services. I look forward to talking with you.

Sincerely,
Erin Antognoli

Erin at Halo Photographic does stunning work!! As a makeup artist, I thought she really captured not only the beauty and glow of a Bride on her big day, but also the emotion and excitement of the moment...all in one photo! Now that's what I call talent. Thanks for your beautiful photos and your hard work.
Erin's photography is stunning. She has provided me with amazing cake photos, and she captures elegance and romance in every classic shot!
We only had the chance to work Erin once, which was at Rocky Gap, but was very impress with your style and the images she send us after were very fresh and new from the standard wedding pictures. We are looking forward towards the next time we can together. - Jonny & Staff

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture

What do your packages include?
Albums, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
I can light for any and all situations.

Is your media preference film or digital?
Documentary coverage is 100% digital. However, the Gelatin Relief images are made in the darkroom. I personally print and process each Gelatin Relief photo, and they are one of a kind images that cannot be duplicated exactly.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
All couples are guaranteed ME on their wedding day. I personally photograph all weddings so that the style and experience does not vary from wedding to wedding.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Only one wedding a day. I give my full attention to one single couple in that day.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I do have several backup strategies in place should I ever have an emergency, but I have never needed to utilize them to date, as I have never missed a scheduled wedding for any reason.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Professional Nikon gear, lighting, and plenty of backup.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, always.

Do you charge for travel?
Within 100 miles of Germantown MD is included, anything over will be an additional charge (this would be agreed on before the fact).

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Promised in 6 weeks, but it rarely takes that long.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
CD / DVD and online proofing are included in all collections, 4x6 proofs available as an upgrade.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes. Clients are given personal reproduction rights to make copies of photos for personal use.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes.

What kind of albums do you offer?
A few different types, matted and digital flush mount.

Additional Questions and Answers
I am interested in a more artistic, less traditional form of photography for my wedding. What do you have for me?

You are in luck! I also shoot weddings in a more strictly fine art style. It's alternative for sure, and not for every bride. But, for those who can truly appreciate the uniqueness of the imagery, and would like to have something like that to commemorate their day, you can check out that work at Halo Photographic's sister site here: Erin Antognoli - Fine Art Weddings.

Rest assured, if you pursue this option, your wedding photos will not look like any others out there!  Because who wants to be just like everyone else, right?
;-)

Can I have both the alternative fine art AND documentary style photography for my wedding?

Simply put, yes. However, to have the fine art Holga images, it will most likely require two photographers - one for the documentary photos, and me doing the alternative artsy photos.  However, I can incorporate the gelatin relief images into your documentary coverage seamlessly and I can handle all of that myself. Call or email me to discuss what you have in mind and I will figure out what setup will work best for your wedding.
