I've been making brides happy for about 45 years.  I love my job as a cake designer and cake decorator.  I'm a member of several wedding cake boards and you can google me online and find out more about my business.  It's worth a trip to the country to come see me!!  I deliver to Kansas City and all the surrounding small towns.  My cakes are primarily iced in buttercream, but I can also do fondant.

When planning your reception, it is best to have the bride and groom cut the cake and take pictures immediately when they come into the hall or immediately after the meal is served if there is a meal.  This way the cake servers can cut the cake and people can eat it right after their meal.  This alleviates having so much cake left because if you wait until after the first dance or later, a lot of your older generation guests will be leaving because they are tired.  Your cake baker has provided enough cake for whatever # of people you said and it is better to cut it earlier so more can enjoy it.
