Here at Buy Me Cake we make custom cakes, cookies, and desserts. We use only the best ingredients to ensure that you get the fresh, never frozen, dessert you imagine. We work with you to create the cake or cookies you're dreaming of for your special day.

1st Carolina DJ's does over 400 weddings per year which means we get to sample plenty of cake from plenty of vendors, however when our owner Kyle's wife celebrated her 30th birthday in August of 2008 it was Jennifer at Buy Me Cake that we went to for their chocolate chip pound cake butter iced cake. It was delicious from start to finish and even in day 5 in the refrigerator the cake is still moist and the icing still in tact. The chips are still melt in your mouth good. We first had a sample of her cake at an event we both did together and from that day forward we knew if we ever needed cake it would be buy me cake that we would go to. We can't stress enough that we have the opportunity to taste every cake in the triad, triangle and charlotte and hands down Buymecake is the one we chose for our own personal event.

How much do you charge per serving?
Standard flavors start at $2.75 per serving and specialty flavors start at $3.25 per serving. The price of your wedding cake depends on 3 things, the number of servings, the flavor of the cake, and the cake design.

How far away will you deliver a wedding cake?
Upon availability, I can deliver up to three hours away. The delivery charge is $.75 a mile round trip from our location to the delivery location

What is fondant?
Fondant is a rolled sugar dough. The brands I prefer to use taste similar to a marshmallow. When the fondant is rolled out it can be draped over tiers to form a smooth surface which is suitable for appliqués, gumpaste flowers, or royal icing details.

Do you provide the flowers for the cake?
I do not provide the flowers unless you order gumpaste flowers. Gumpaste flowers are hand-made sugar flowers. Another thing to keep in mind when adding flowers to your cake is that there are certain flowers that are toxic and should not come in contact with anything to be consumed.

Do you provide decorations for the cake table?
No, but I will be happy to arrange any decorations that you have purchased to use on your cake table.

How soon should I book my wedding cake with you?
This depends on your wedding date. The early spring months and fall months book up the quickest. Many brides book 3-6 months in advance but spring weddings are usually booked 6-12 months in advance. However I don't book more than 12 months in advance.

Do you make cakes for other occasions than weddings?

Is there a charge for a wedding cake consultation?
No. The consultation with cake tasting is complementary for all tiered cakes that will serve 80 or more. You may have up to four in attendance at your consultation, including the bride.

How long does the consultation last, and what does it involve?
An average consultation lasts between 1 to 1 ½ hours. Once you walk in and take a seat there will be 6 (Tahitian Vanilla, Chocolate, Yellow Butter, Lemon Pound, Chocolate Chip Pound, and Vanilla Pound) flavors of cake for you to taste. If you are interested in tasting any flavors that are not provided you can purchase a 6 in round cake in that flavor for $18 + tax. I need 48 hours notice to prepare these cakes before your scheduled consultation.
After you have tasted your cakes I will sit down and talk with you about the design of your cake and the flavors of your cake. Please feel free to bring any pictures of cakes you are interested in and any color samples that you are interested in using in the design of your cake. I have a large collection of books and magazines for you to browse.
After I get all the information I need I will write out a price quote and draw a sketch of your cake. Please be patient as it can take up to a week depending on how busy we are.

How much of a deposit do I need to pay to secure your services?
A $100 deposit is require to secure your wedding date and is not refundable. Three weeks before the wedding final number are due and two weeks before your wedding payment in full is due.

What happens if I end up canceling my order?
If you cancel your cake the $100 deposit is forfeit. If you cancel your cake less than 2 weeks before your event, you will forfeit all monies paid.

How much notice do you need for a cake?
We need 2 weeks notice for a wedding cake and any specially designed intricate cake. Other cakes need 48 hours notice but it is better to plan ahead because we do fill up.

When can I pickup my cake?
Cake pick-ups are scheduled on a personal basis, however tiered cakes are NOT available for pick-up.

What methods of payment do you accept?
At this time I accept cash and checks.

Do you do sheet cakes?
No we do not make sheet cakes. If you are interested we can make kitchen cakes, which look just like a wedding cake when cut.

Do I have to pick a cake from your Gallery?
The gallery will show you what has been done before, I love to help your design your own wedding cake.
