Mandarin Oriental, Boston offers Wedding Couples an opulently designed "Jewel Box" Oriental Ballroom, flooded with natural light from floor to ceiling windows and displaying stunning chandeliers, elegant fixtures and sweeping views of the city skyline. The Gallery provides an intimate Ceremony or Cocktail Reception space while the Oriental Ballroom is perfect for dinner reception and dancing.
For an outdoor setting, our private Garden Terrace offers an ethereal, lush landscape for a ceremony or tented reception under the stars and city lights. Our Garden Terrace and Ballroom are often used in conjunction for multi-space ceremony and receptions.
Our four additional Event Spaces are distinctively designed with modern New England features and elegant Chinoiserie detail, all featuring floor to ceiling windows overlooking Back Bay. Perfect Wedding, Perfect Staff!
First I’ll start with the selection process. We toured over a dozen different Boston hotel and wedding venue locations and The Mandarin immediately stood out as one of our top 2 choices. We went through the contract and financial process with both and The Mandarin was more of a pleasure and more flexible than the other venue in every regard, an easy choice. The outdoor ceremony space was a real deal-maker too and we’re so glad we chose it.
Second was the planning manager. Our initial planning manager was great and offered us lots of suggestions. The manager we had been working with left The Mandarin a few weeks before the wedding and we started to panic but The Mandarin staff did everything they could to ease the transition. In the transition to a new manager, both the previous and new managers met with us multiple times for a smooth transition. The Mandarin made multiple flexible accommodations for special and unique things that we wanted in the wedding venue for the prep, the ceremony and the reception.
The actual day of was incredible in every way, and we were so grateful for The Mandarin staff. So many of our guests had so much to say about the staff, the efficiency of the stage-by-stage flow of events, and the quality of the food. The chef, Rob, was a real pleasure to plan with and has an incredible attention to detail. We seriously get comments about the food almost every time we see people since the wedding, thank you Rob! Our manager Farid was our planning and day of event manager and was with us every step of the way. The morning and afternoon before the ceremony, Farid made sure to keep our vendors in check and that the bride and groom prep rooms were well taken care of.
Often forgotten and not really considered, is the day after the wedding. The Mandarin staff and event coordination team made quick work to organize everything so the next day was a breeze to pickup everything that we needed to, and they even saved some of our cake which we weren’t able to try.
We recommend The Mandarin to all friends and family (and so do our guests now). Thank you to everyone at The Mandarin, and we hope to attend another wedding there soon!
