La Jolla Woman's Club is located in the heart of La Jolla Village, one block from the ocean. With it's exquisite private grounds, historic Irving Gill building and ocean view, the club is a magical setting for weddings.
The Club sits on it's own spacious grounds including two ceremony gardens. The South garden is charming, filled with colorful plantings and has an arch that can be decorated and is framed by the famous arbor. The front ceremony garden has a choice of facing the European style fountain or the old English Oak tree. The North arbor covered terrace with it's ocean view is popular for cocktail hour. Many couples choose to walk to the ocean for photos while guests are enjoying their cocktail hour, returning to the club in time for the grand entrance. Inside the clubhouse, the main ballroom has hardwood floors for dancing and it's own built-in, raised stage and stained glass windows. It has two adjacent parlors opening onto the ballroom that can be used to increase seating capacity or for buffet. The beautiful arched windows on the parlors overlook the gardens and ocean view. Guests enjoy the exclusive use of the entire clubhouse and grounds for the event.

Wonderful space, all of our guests raved about it!
The venue did require the event be over at 10pm (as did nearly every other venue we toured), however we were able to transition the party to Hennessey's Tavern nearby without any issues, and our guests also loved the brief walk and change of scene! We were able to keep the party going until late into the night.

I DJ'd a wedding at the La Jolla Women's Club last weekend, and it was a wonderful experience. Even though we had a surprise rainstorm, they were easily able to adjust and handle the ceremony on the covered patio. Sharlene, the catering manager, was very friendly to work with! I have been fortunate enough to celebrate 2 personal/family weddings in addition to showcasing wedding & event cakes (as owner of Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.) at the La Jolla Women's Club numerous times...and what a beautiful spot! It features so many cool aspects: beautiful ceremony areas, close to beach & accommodations for guests, stunning garden setting, covered porches (which protect guests, flowers, food & cake from sun), great stage for big band, and lovely nooks & areas for unique photography. Sharlene is a great addition to the team at the Club, and she has enhanced the vendor list to help clients to find more amazing professionals.
