Thank You, Lisa!

With most of our guests visiting San Diego from out of town, we wanted to have a wedding weekend welcome party in a San Diego hot spot - Old Town. We originally had our sights set on Barra Barra, however - in connecting with Lisa, she lead us in the perfect direction to hold our special event in the courtyard of The Cosmopolitan. Lisa was incredibly kind and patient through multiple postponements from the start of planning our event in early 2019 to finally celebrating July 2, 2022. Our guests found the party to be such a treat - great atmosphere, food, music and drinks. Thank you to Lisa and her team for coordinating a special evening to welcome our wedding guests to San Diego!

Wonderful wedding venue with service, charm, and history

My wife and I recently had our wedding at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Our day was absolutely perfect and we thank Lynn for all her expertise and planning with our wedding. The food and drink were great, the rooms were comfy, the venue was beautiful, but most especially the service was above and beyond excellent! We received many compliments from our guests on how polite and professional the hotel staff was during the wedding. They really went out of their way to make sure that everyone was satisfied. Thank you so much for making our wedding the perfect day!

Amazing Vow Renewal

Thank you to Lynn and the amazing Cosmopolitan staff for making our vow renewal so beautiful ! It was a lovely event and we are so appreciative of all of the extra efforts that were made to make it special. Eddy our personal bartender was exceptional, as was everyone who assisted us. Dinner was delicious and we were so happy to share our joy with all of you!

Dream Wedding!

No one from our party has been able to get over how absolutely perfect The Cosmopolitan Hotel & Restaurant was for our wedding! If you're looking for a rustic but classy feel with total privacy, plenty of space, gorgeous architecture, and fantastic service, this is your place. The staff were all fantastic and made us feel like family, and the events coordinator Lynn Simpson is a total pro and incredibly sweet - planning was a breeze. We opted to rent out all 10 rooms at the hotel so that we were the only ones on property and our guests loved the freedom to be able to enjoy the upper veranda and retreat to the guest rooms for a moment if needed. We had a buffet and the food was fantastic! It all tasted very homemade, not the frozen hotel food you get at bigger properties. I think my favorite part was that the venue was so gorgeous on its own that we hardly had to spend any money on decor! We just did simple candles in glass cylinders with a little greenery for centerpieces, and brought some picture frames and mason jars with candles for the lounge tables by the bar and done! My goals for our wedding were a to keep it low-maintenance (venue to provide food, furniture, linens, etc), have a beautiful outdoor venue, and stick to a fairly frugal budget - The Cosmo helped me meet all of these goals without any quality spared. This place is a total hidden gem and we couldn't be happier to have chosen it for our big day!

Loved having our wedding here!

I'm so glad we discovered this venue! It was the perfect setting for us. I loved that the space really speaks for itself, we did not need to bring in a lot of decor. We wanted someone outside yet private and this was the perfect combination. Once you are inside, the busy old town atmosphere disappears. We also rented out the hotel rooms for the week and that really made the whole experience! It felt like we were in another little world while being in our home town. The staff was amazing and helpful. I would highly recommend!

The BEST wedding venue in San Diego

The Cosmopolitan deserves the HIGHEST,BEST rating. No venue nor staff could have been better, more agreeable, more helpful, etc. Lynn and Brandon surpassed my hopes and expectations. They gave our daughter the wedding of her dreams in every way.

Better than the best day I could have imagined

We had our wedding at the Cosmopolitan and it was the best day I could have ever imagined. We got to use the Seeley Yard for the ceremony, and then we rented out the entire venue for the reception and dancing afterwards. Lynn and her team were with us every step of the way and Lynn was SUCH A JOY to work with, no matter how silly or annoying our requests were, she always tried to help us make them happen!
If you want a venue that's unique, easy to reach for out of towners, historic and flexible, the Cosmo is perfect.

Absolutely phenomenal!

Where do I begin! Choosing to have our wedding at the Cosmopolitanism was the best decision we ever made. Lynn (Cosmo coordinator) was outstanding, she took care of any questions/concerns & was extremely flexible with our schedule. Lynn & her staff transformed the historic hotel into a fairytale for my husband and I. We chose the blueberry mojito as our welcome cocktail (to die for) & a buffet dinner for our 65 guests. Everyone was raving about the vegetarian lasagna & skirt steak.
The Cosmo staff took care of everything for us & made our day so effortless. We chose to stay in the steely suite the night of our wedding (room 4/5) absolutely gorgeous.
If you want a unique experience, amazing coordinator & beautiful culture surrounding you then look no further.

Magical Wedding Celebration!

We had a wonderful experience getting married at the Cosmo! From the amazing and beautiful venue to the delicious food to the wonderful hospitality, everything was so great.

I was initially very nervous about all the attention that comes with a wedding, so I wanted to do a private ceremony for just my hubby and I, and then have a big party afterward, but my hubs wanted to invite everyone to the ceremony as well. I was simply so nervous about walking down a traditional aisle, with all those eyes on me, but when I saw the setup at the Cosmo, it really felt right. The courtyard was a perfect configuration because many of the guests could be up on the second-floor balcony. It felt so intimate and also non-traditional in just the right way.

Lynn and the entire staff were great to work with. They were responsive to questions and very accommodating. I probably visited the Cosmo eight or so times between when we booked it and the wedding, just so I could visualize the setup and décor, and even practice the timing of the processional song, and everyone was so understanding and helpful. The captains and bartenders were all so nice, and Brandon was great to work with on the hotel accommodations for the guests.

We booked all 10 rooms at the Cosmo for the Friday and Saturday of our wedding weekend, which saved us some money on the room costs. It was so fun to have the whole hotel to ourselves for that weekend. The rooms are old-fashioned and fun! It was really great getting ready in the bridal suite and stepping out onto the balcony for photos and drinks with friends. The whole experience felt pretty magical. Our friends and family who stayed at the Cosmo raved about what a unique and fun experience it was. Because we had the whole place booked, we didn’t really have a curfew for the DJ, so we were able to keep dancing til about midnight.

The food was delicious too! I was so busy dancing at the wedding that I missed the late-night taco stand and our dessert spread, but I heard very good things about them! The drinks were yummy as well.

The space is already so pretty and green so we didn’t need a lot of extra décor, which was nice. And the unique space made for some great moments, like when my hubby and I returned to the cocktail hour at on the balcony with our guests cheering below—such a fun grand entrance to the party!

Overall we were so happy with how everything turned out. It was a magical day and everyone raved about what a great wedding it was. I really credit the entire Cosmo staff with helping make it a reality for us!

My wife and I absolutely loved the Cosmopolitan Hotel, it’s coordinator Lynn, the hotel staff and the venue in entirety.

Our ceremony was next door at the Casa de Estudillo. The ceremony went off without a hitch and was beautifully prepared and coordinated.

The reception itself was in the main area of the Cosmo. Working with Lynn, we were able to meet well beforehand to try the food, talk about the traditions we wanted to bring in, the settings, vendors and anything and everything else. The hotel staff was beyond perfect. We worked (you might say bothered or harassed) Brandon way too often but he never complained. We received smiles and a laugh each time we asked for something and needed his help. The term “overly accommodating” wouldn’t even do what he and Lynn did justice.
