It was the most magical day & venue!

From start to finish the experience with the Bar Harbor Club at the Harborside Hotel was top notch. I am a corporate event planner and I’ve done events all over the country and the world, so I had high expectations. At every juncture, the incredible team at the BHC exceeded my expectations. We signed the contract sight unseen in the middle of the pandemic and Deb was so professional and respectful answering all our questions at what felt like any hour of the day. She even FaceTimed us so we could get a feel for the layout.

Bar Harbor is a special place for me, close to where I grew up, but my husband’s family is from Ohio and Kentucky and most had never traveled to Maine before. Of all the venues I looked at in the state, the Bar Harbor Club was unmatched. You can’t beat the small-town destination coupled with the national park. The venue itself has the perfect layout and flow. The lawn overlooks the ocean but is private and removed from the hotel. The patio is beautiful and a seamless transition to cocktail hour, followed by the wow-factor ballroom with gorgeous wood beams. The food and beverage team are truly amazing – if food is important to you, the presentation and quality will not disappoint. The team even accommodated our specialty cocktails and did a Kentucky bourbon bar for us! For our wedding cake, I wanted something understated and simple until I saw photos of Chef Acosta’s work. I sent him a picture of something a little more elaborate and he ABSOLUTELY delivered (see photos).

Barbara at the Bud Connection in Ellsworth is the preferred vendor for the club’s florals. She is excellent – she took my vision and made it come to life in the most gorgeous way. Not only is she talented, but she was an absolute dream to work with. She created a floral arch for us that served as our arbor and about 10 minutes before our ceremony was scheduled to begin a huge thunderstorm came through and blew the whole thing over. Genesis, the club’s event coordinator, contacted Barbara and she, Genesis, and here team were out there in what felt like five minutes reconstructing the whole thing in the rain. I know that they had multiple events at multiple venues going on that weekend, and yet made us feel like we were the only ones. Talk about going above and beyond.

Above all, the pandemic has impacted the service industry immensely all over the country and we know Bar Harbor was running lean in terms of staffing and employees this year. We didn’t feel the impact of that at the Bar Harbor Club whatsoever, which speaks volumes to the professionalism, vigor, and expertise of the incredibly hard-working team.

To Deb, Genesis, and the entire BHC team – we thank you for making our wedding weekend so magical, dreamy, and fun!

Holiday Weekend Destination Wedding was perfect!

My husband and I are so happy we choose the Harborside Hotel as our wedding venue! We fell in love with Bar Harbor on our first visit and, when we got engaged, we knew we wanted to get married in town. We choose the Harborside Hotel because it provided a central location for our guests to conveniently experience Acadia and Bar Harbor with all the added amenities of a resort. Being from Philadelphia, we were also drawn to the history of the Bar Harbor Club and the 20th Century glamour the Stotesbury Ballroom offered. The views from the Bar Harbor Club provided a stunning background to our reception and a sunset over the harbor few of our guests will forget. We were also able to take most of our pictures on property which gave us the time to host an intimate cocktail hour with our wedding party on the roof deck of our Boathouse Suite, which is one of my favorite memories from the whole weekend! The venue gave us pictures that captured our wedding day and the beauty of Bar Harbor together, which we will treasure forever and now decorate our home. All the staff at the Harborside Hotel helped make the entire weekend come together better than we had hoped. Deb and Olivia specifically were exceptionally organized and helped us coordinate every detail at the venue, including coordinating our rehearsal dinner with Stewman’s and the boat cruise we hosted with he Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company. This was particularly helpful given we were planning a destination wedding and were only able to visit the venue in person twice before the wedding. They have years of experience with weddings in Bar Harbor, provided wonderful vendor recommendations and guided us through the whole process. We would absolutely recommend the Harborside Hotel to anyone looking to plan an event in Bar Harbor!
