Both the Oakland House Beach and Cathedral Field are lovely choices if you envision a heartfelt ceremony by the sea. Better yet, your wedding photographers will undoubtedly capture countless once-in-a-lifetime memories with a stunning backdrop. Afterward, everyone can make their way to the Great Lawn for your long-awaited reception. Here, you'll get to host your celebration under a tent, allowing loved ones to wine, dine, and dance the night away under the stars. Due to the unique nature of the property, it is recommended that you host a wedding getaway, enjoying coastal Maine with friends and family in the cottages, the Acorn Guest House, and the venue's private inn rooms.

Oakland House Beach: The beach sits alongside the grass where guests would sit, offering the option (depending on the tide) for the couple to stand in the sand, or along the edge of the shore. The sun sets just to the right of the beach, casting a wonderful light across the water.

Cathedral Field: Cathedral Field is a lovely oceanside glade nestled into the oak trees with beautiful views of the beach. With a natural slope toward the water, guests will enjoy uninterrupted views of the ceremony and the landscape behind.

The Great Lawn is the perfect location for a reception. Sized just right for an event tent, the Great Lawn offers wonderful views of the property and ocean, as well as easy accessibility to restrooms, electricity hookups, and kitchen facilities.

Additional property locations include The Barnacle Barn and Porch Dining Room. The Barnacle is a rustic, intimate barn perfect for small gatherings, rehearsal dinners, or meandering cocktails. Complete with a working stone fireplace and covered front porch, the Barnacle can accommodate up to 35 for a seated dinner or 50 for a cocktail hour-style gathering. The Porch Dining Room is the main dining room of the Oakland House restaurant. A bright and airy porch-like dining room, which overlooks the gardens and lawn sloping down to the shore, is perfect for rehearsal dinners, welcome drinks, or casual gatherings. The Porch Dining Room can seat up to 50 people or up to 115 for a roaming cocktail hour. Options are available for expanding the dining area for larger groups. Details available upon request.
