We can say without a doubt that our September 2026 wedding would not have been the success it was without Olivia from Dear My Event. We hired her for a partial planning package starting in July 2025, and she expertly navigated several unique challenges that made our wedding different from the norm.

First, the bride was based outside of the US for 95% of the planning process. Olivia was incredibly flexible, working around a 6-hour time difference to accommodate multiple virtual meetings and making the most of the handful of the few in-person meetings we could manage. She always came prepared and broke down major decisions so the wedding planning process felt personal and not overwhelming.

Second, it was a major priority for us to work with Asian/Asian American small businesses in the Northern Virginia area. As part of our package, we brought in five vendors, and Olivia helped identify the rest. She truly listened to our goals and connected us with an amazing DJ, florist, photographer, and hair/makeup artist who fit our vision perfectly. Once we handled the initial contracts, Olivia stepped in and coordinated seamlessly with everyone.

Third, our venue was completely bare-bones and required everything to be brought in by third-party vendors—with a strict restriction of only one hour of setup time before cocktail hour. Olivia brilliantly managed this incredibly tight window, collaborating with all our vendors to ensure every piece of prep and material was positioned to maximize that single hour.

But the ultimate proof of Olivia's talent was her crisis management on the actual wedding day. We only found out after that Olivia handled both a power outage and a small fire during the event. She managed it so smoothly that neither we nor our guests had any idea anything was amiss. We are in awe of her calm under pressure and are so grateful for how hard she and her team worked behind the scenes. If you want a planner who will execute your unique vision and handle LITERAL fires without breaking a sweat, I cannot recommend Olivia and Dear My Event more.

I would highly recommend Dear My Event to anyone planning a wedding! We worked with Olivia for day of coordination which was more like 3 month coordination. Olivia was extremely thorough and helped ease all pre wedding stress throughout the final planning months! We had extra logistics with having our ceremony and reception in two separate places and she made the entire process seamless. The entire day myself, my husband, and our families were able to relax and be present in the day all thanks to Olivia and her team!

I cannot say enough about Olivia and her team. I was unsure about hiring a wedding coordinator as I am very type A and have to do everything myself. I was SO WRONG and truly cannot tell you how happy I am that I found Olivia. She took my visions and turned them into a reality. She gave her expert advice while still honoring my ideas. I tell everyone that it was the most perfect day literally because of her. There were a few minor issues and she handled them so gracefully. Olivia handled everything from creating and managing our wedding timeline, executing seamless communication with our venue and vendors, conducting our rehearsal, and so much more. From our very first call, Olivia at DearMyEvent was a total dream. She’s the definition of organized, efficient, and endlessly resourceful. Olivia and her team handled it all: setting up at both locations, coordinating vendors, keeping the timeline tight, and somehow keeping me warm, calm, and smiling the whole time. She anticipated hiccups before they existed and made everything look effortless.

Something that meant so much to us: Olivia was the only Korean American planner we spoke to, and her presence brought an extra layer of comfort and understanding for my husband and his family, who only speak Korean. Her cultural intuition, warmth, and clear communication made everyone feel included and at ease. There was no confusion, just joy.
