After getting married in Washington, DC in 2010, I launched a wedding blog, Capitol Romance, aimed at helping nontraditional and budget-conscious couples plan their DC area wedding. Through the blog I met tons of amazing couples and awesome wedding vendors and I was continually energized by how many people in DC were craving more nontraditional DC wedding resources.
In September of 2011, I decided to bite the bullet and take my love of helping couples further by launching Capitol Romance Wedding Coordination. In 2015 I decided to grow the Capitol Romance Wedding Coordination family and bring on my first Associate Coordinator!
With my blog I hope to provide a one-stop place for the people of our nation’s capitol to get cool, unique, refreshing wedding inspiration and vendor help. I have also recently opened up a side business, offering wedding planning and coordination services.
Have the DC wedding YOU want to have, that truly represents who YOU are, and let Capitol Romance help! Whether it is through the inspiration of my blog OR hire me to plan/design/coordinate your wedding.
I look forward to helping your wedding day be rad, offbeat, and 100% you!

Amanda F. from Capitol Romance is the Best!
We worked with Amanda for an August wedding in DC and had such an amazing experience. She was professional in every way imaginable and went above and beyond what we expected from a day-of coordinator beginning even a year before our wedding. She was quick to respond and provide guidance when we had no clue what we were doing.Sent on 08/12/2019
Most importantly, on the weekend and day of our wedding, Amanda handled it all. It was so nice to not have to worry or plan anything on the day of our wedding, and even after the venue closed and the next day when we picked up any remaining items. We trusted Amanda completely and she helped us have one of the best days of our lives!

Great Experience with Alesha for Our DC Summer Wedding
Alesha did a fantastic job coordinating our wedding in June 2019 at Josephine Butler Parks Center!Sent on 08/12/2019
We weren't sure if we needed a coordinator at first since we were planning to do most of the work ourselves, but we quickly realized that we needed someone with wedding planning experience to help us pull everything together. Alesha communicated with vendors, most importantly with our caterer since they needed a lot of information about our guests and seating in order to help flip the same space from the ceremony into the reception. She introduced us to software that helped us easily assign guests to tables and share that information with she and the caterer. The meeting we had a few months out from the wedding was also invaluable since she was able to explain the day-of-timeline and help us prioritize the tasks we still needed to complete leading up the wedding.
While all of the this was incredibly helpful, Alesha's commitment to making our wedding amazing really came through at the rehearsal and on the wedding day. As far as we know, everything went perfectly smoothly and there was nothing to worry about, but in reality I know that anything that came up that day was swiftly handled by Alesha without us even knowing about it. She was also great with our family and friends.
The services Alesha provided were exactly what we needed. She was professional, organized and a joy to work with. I only wish we had hired her earlier in the process to get even more information and tips!

Amazing vendor recommendations and great to work with
We loved working with Amanda for our wedding at St. Francis Hall in Brookland. She was familiar with the venue and had great ideas on layout and setup. She was also incredibly quick to respond with vendor recommendations (we loved all of them!), even saving the day with a seamstress rec when my dress arrived less than a month before the wedding. Highly recommend Capitol Romance and Amanda!Sent on 06/04/2019
Capitol Romance Wedding Coordination's reply:
I can't recommend Bree & her team more! We've worked with the team at Capitol Romance Coordination on a few clients and each time the wedding day has moved so smoothly. She is professional, organized and great at handling anything that crops up. You are in wonderful hands working with these ladies!
As a DC wedding vendor and bride to be, I can say first hand that our town was in need of some help and Capitol Romance was just the right help to come along! Capitol Romance (the blog)- is a breath of fresh air in this town. The style of the wedding blog is off-beat, but not so much so that it makes you uncomfortable. Blog features lots of attainable and realistic wedding inspiration posts, do-able DIY wedding stuff, and the I love that the blog features real life and stylized engagements, elopements, and weddings. Oh and the couples actually look like real people! Bree- is extremely talented with connecting people, styling, creating, and "stepping outside of the box". She challenges the DC wedding scene to higher levels of creativity! As a wedding vendor, I have worked with Bree a couple times and I have been really impressed with her style! I would highly recommend Bree to couples of all walks. Definitely consult with Bree on your wedding planning!
If you want to find a place to find awesome wedding inspiration and all the best vendors in the nations capitol you need to check out Bree's blog Capitol Romance! Bree has taken all this inspiration and turned it into an awesome wedding planning business.
