Tungsten V. Titanium??
So, I know it's a tad early but we're looking for wedding bands already. Mine is the easy part, but we are having trouble with is deciding whether to do his in titanium or tungsten. I've priced both and titanium seems to be cheaper at most places, but I hear tungsten is more durable. What are your experiences with this?? Is one better than they other? Is Tungsten really not able to be re-sized because Tungstenworld.com had a lifetime sizing option. Please help!! lol

My future hubby and I went with Tungsten. He works outs using a lot of weights as well as manages a gym and we wanted one that would not be easily scratched. His ring did cost a lot more than if we had went with titanium or gold, but it will better to buy one durable ring than to have to buy another one later. Tungsten cannot be re-sized. We had a hard time getting a ring that fit him well, and every time one did not work, the jewelry store had to return the ring and re-order a whole new one. I don't think you can re-size titanium at all, nor can either ring be cut off in case of an emergency. If you are looking at either type of medal, you want to purchase your rings soon; it took us a couple of months to finally get a ring that fits him! Good luck!

I guess it depends on where you buy your ring (walmart). My FH got sized and tried on two tungsten rings and tada, it fit.

Honestly Ive been thinking about this myself. He and I both really wanted to get Tungsten because of its durability. I wanted something that would last, since he is in the military and costly working with his hands. Then it hit me, If he were to get hurt and his fingers swell, that ring wont come off and they cant cut it off. Whats the better option, have him loose his finger cuz we didn't want to buy a new ring if it got damaged or buy him a ring that can be cut off in case of an emergency and save his hand. I know it sounds weird, but I had a few people tell me that. My dad has had his ring fixed a few times over the years in his line of work which is also rough, but luckily they could cut his ring off and just fix the ring. Its just something to think about when buying a ring.

Come visit our store, we can show you some and help you decide on what's best for you. We do custom manufacturing, if you think sizing is an issue we can make something in white gold in your finger size. Titanium and tungsten are both very store. I would go with what design you like best. We have alot of different designs and styles to choose from.

My husband is in the AF and bought his titanium ring on base. I want to say it was $60 I felt bad because my was $6,000. However after me pushing him to get a more expensive ring it came down to two things. He wanted a light weight ring that he felt was not a weight and it was very comfortable on his finger. I know he takes it off when working out and working on the car and such. But for safety all guys should take their rings off when working on anything that could damage their hands. I have a navy bride who says her groom takes his ring off every time he is working on the ship. But it goes on a necklace.

We area in your area if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Best Wishes!

If you google "Tungsten emergency removal" you can see that you can still remove the ring. They crack the ring instead of cutting it. We have decided to go with Tungsten because we both work heavily with our hands and need a durable ring that won't scratch. Hope that helps! :)
