Traditional things

Are y’all doing a cake cutting, bouquet toss, and garter toss? Note sure if we’re going to keep or skip these at our reception.

We did these for our reception. It was a way of having some fun and we figured it would be traditional for people who expect certain things in the wedding -- and keep us visible to the guests in these moments. If you guests who will participate and enjoy some of these, then consider doing it. If the reception is low key or has other priorities, that can work well too.

We're doing a cake cutting but opted to not do bouquet or garter. I am preserving my wedding flowers and don't want them to be damaged. We pretty much kept asking ourselves, "What's super Matt and Julia?" I read somewhere what makes a wedding memoriable isn't all the 'things' it's the details and things are so totally each of you or you two together! Totally changed our entire wedding planning process

We did it too for our reception. We did it for fun and it was crazy funny. I guests had fun with it. If you feel like you are going for some traditional things and think your guests will appreciate the traditional things go for it. If you have other options for your wedding that would be cool as well
