OMG! I Didn't mention the reception in my invitations!

OK...I did the invitations myself and they look sooo beautiful and really professional. (I got the opinion of strangers who I did not tell that I made the invitation so I know it's true) However, I'm beginning to put them together and I realized than on the invite or the reply card did I mention that there is a reception following the ceremony. It is listed on my website where they will be R.S.V.P ing but not in the formal invite. Is there anything I can do to fix this before I mail these invitations?

You could also have the reception cards at the ceremony, or with the programs for the wedding (or on the programs). Many people forget to bring their invites anyway and get to the wedding kicking themselves for forgetting the reception directions.

A reception card is a common insert into an invitation. Just create it like your invitation (style/ color-wise) and no one will be the wiser! Do check your postage, though, as you may need to add more due to the extra weight. (Size matters, too. USPS charges more for square & off-size mailings.)

Don't worry! I didn't have the reception location listed in my invitation either. What we did: Announced it on our website, included it in hotel information packets, and supplied explicit maps at the ceremony on how to get there. Not one problem occurred. It was perfect! It's okay, don't let your gorgeous invites go to waist! :)

Since you are very creative, having made your invitations that look really professional, I suggest making a small note to state that there is a reception following the wedding. You can embellish the note with the picture of the reception venue and even repeat the web address of your website for your guest to RSVP.
Make it look like the reception venue was left out of the invitation and reply card intentionally to give your invitation that "not your ordinary"" invitation look.
Good luck with your wedding!

I would say depending on the size of the invitations it would not be a big deal to include a small RSVP reminder with the information. It shouldn't be larger than a "Save the Date" card.

Make a cute Reception Card to put inside your invite to match your invitations. No harm, glad to hear that you caught it in time!
Congrats...

Consider including a small card that says "For information regarding the reception and other details, please visit our wedding website xyz.com." On your website you can include all the details, registry information, etc.

I agree that it is common for the cocktail hour/reception info to be a simple insert or available at the ceremony location with directions.

I see one issue with forwarding people to your website to find the reception information, the older generation you may be inviting may
not have a computer. I know of many seniors without a computer.

Well, back in the "old" days, there was an additional card for the reception info anyways. Since you did these yourself, you could create small 3x5 cards to include in the envelopes with your invitation set that has your reception information on there... Best Wishes!
